Simple Ways to Improve Your Photos

Watch my latest segments: Photography 101 on Live with Kelly and Ryan!

Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest always keep me on my toes! I love how much we laugh while also teaching simple ways to improve your photos on Live with Kelly and Ryan for their School of Life series. Here we are backstage. Kelly wanted us to model the photo tips after the show. 🙂

These are a few simple ways to improve your photos that we covered. You can use your camera phone for all of these!

Off Center Your Subject

To add more story to your photos, start with a simple composition trick of off centering your subject. Put them on the far right or far left. And if possible, have something or someone on the opposite side add drama to the moment (like the Executive Producer, Gelman’s, frown – LOL!). This is one of my favorite simple ways to improve your photos! Almost twenty years ago, I started developing my photographer’s eye by just practicing this one thing.

3 Steps to Look Great in Photos

I walked Kelly and Ryan through my three favorite steps to look great in photos. They interpreted each step the way only Kelly and Ryan can. LOL!

Stand at an Angle

Kelly had this one down. I’m not sure what’s happening with Ryan.

Put Your Weight On Your Front Foot and Lean In

This is where things really got crazy! LOL! My attempt to share simple ways to improve your photos started to spin out of control!

Lift Your Chin

I encourage you to lift your chin “just a little” so it’s almost not noticeable. LOL! By lifting your chin (a little) you elongate your neck and get rid of any double, triple chins. It’s an easy way to improve your photos! This example below is exaggerated for your pleasure.

I’m telling you, these two are non-stop!

Of all the shows I’ve appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan are like none other. With all their stardom, Kelly and Ryan are two of the most genuinely kind, fun people to work with.

Pascaline got to come with me this time, and she had never met Kelly before. I was so blessed by how excited Kelly was to meet her, even going out of her way to walk off set and talk with Pascaline.

Live with Kelly and Ryan aims to bring joy to your home every morning and what a gift it is.

Mama’s Joy

How wonderful to have Pascaline with me! Everyone thought she was my assistant. I’m a blessed mama. They thought she was my assistant because she was such an incredible support in endless ways. Love my girl!

You Know You’ve Made It When…

One of our wonderful clients texted us a screen shot of TV Guide and said “You know you’ve made it big time when your name is slated next to the celebrity guest.” LOL!

How amazing is God? If you know my backstory, you know that my life is evidence that God still does the impossible.
