I’ve written a new Photo-Recipe for his blog today that is all about how to set up a successful pet photo shoot, whether you are an amateur or pro! Couple Other Cool Things to Watch For!
When you watch the show, you may notice that as I shoot the images are being transmitted wirelessly and uploading straight to the TV monitors. This amazing technology is made possible by our friend, Ziv’s company, Eye-Fi. You can literally put an Eye-Fi card in your camera, and when you shoot your images will go online instantly! We wanted to get rid of the cable that was connected to my camera on the last show, so Brian flew out to the NY set ahead of me and tested the Eye-Fi option and it worked like a charm!
I’m also shooting these segments with the new Sony A55 DSLR. This camera holds a ground breaking technology that is insane! It has a “Translucent Mirror Technology” which means many things but one of my favorite highlights is that you can shoot 10, TEN, frames per second! The camera will keep a continuous focus while shooting that fast! So you can see why it was the perfect camera for working with pets on the move! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!! If you could have seen me this morning!! I’ve checked the blog a few times this morning and when I finally saw today’s blog post, I forced myself to read the whole thing and not just scroll to the bottom to see the ROE winner!! I even went to Nate’s blog to read Me Ra’s photo recipe on pet photography. And I have no pet.
When I finally got to the bottom and my eyes jumped to my name, I couldn’t believe it. Had to read that whole paragraph twice and then ran screaming and shrieking out of my office, down the hall to the living to shout, ‘guess what? guess what?’ to my husband and son. Then I promptly burst into tears while Cameron encouraged me to breathe and take it in. I am so, so lucky… and so incredibly grateful.
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. I know that every nominee was deeply deserving and I will do my best at this workshop not only for myself but for them as well. If any of my nominee sisters wants to get together for a shoot ‘n walk sometime, let me know! I am always up for it!

ahh mera….pictures of pets….i’ve got a couple of pets you can keep in your suitcase as traveling pet models. three actually. 2 dogs and a cat…and they are “wonderful”. right? should i send them out? i can put them in a box today! would you like them? i anxiously await your response. 🙂

MeRa, as soon as I got to my sister’s house from the workshop today (which was amazing and you were right, my brain is on overload right now), I sat down and watched the tivo’d Nate berkus show. You rocked it again. You are such a natural!!!
And I’ve been waiting to hear you talk about the new Sony. I read about it a little over a month ago and have been wondering when you would be using it and telling us about it.

Congratulations Ajira! It is so wonderful to see another SOAR sister being able to attend! Get ready for an amazing experience. You will laugh, cry, laugh till you cry and repeat it all over again! It think I made it all of 5 minutes before the emotions started flowing. Its only been a few weeks since I attended the DC workshop and its already effected my life. Have an amazing time!

BTW-I know the workshop was fun-it was Fleet Week and the Blue Angels were flying low-amazing show! I was out at the Pier hoping to run into MeRa and the Workshop gals!
