Me Ra and Brian bring hands-on instruction teaching you how to capture the southern soul of NOLA!  Get ready to capture the signature architecture of the French Quarter!  Explore vintage shops and artist works.  Then feast on a mash up of Cajun, French, German, Native American (and more) cuisine from amazing Jambalaya to Po-Boys or Cafe Du Monde’s mouth watering beignets.  At night, the group will listen to a little jazz and blues (that you’ll also photograph), and maybe you’ll find yourself dancing in the streets with Me Ra and Brian!  (stranger things have happened on their tours :)) For the night owls, the group will do some beautiful night photography and editing![/cmsms_text][cmsms_heading type=”h1″ font_weight=”400″ font_style=”normal” text_align=”center” target=”self” margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”20″ animation_delay=”0″]TENTATIVE SCHEDULE[/cmsms_heading][cmsms_text animation_delay=”0″]

We say tentative because we want to leave room for magical ideas between now and when we’re there!

FRIDAY: Arrive in time to get settled, unpack your camera and meet up for our first group dinner in New Orleans!  Be on the lookout for some great photo moments of the local musicians! We’ll begin the feasting in the French Quarter and afterwards dive into night photography.  Dinner included.

SATURDAY:  Put on your walking shoes!  Start the morning with an early walk through the beautiful city park with hanging moss at Bayou Bridges before artists, street performers and musicians start up their routines.  We’re going to explore and capture the quaint architecture, local characters of the French Quarter, and take in the beautiful Garden District. We’ll end our day wandering through the Frenchmen Street Art Market while grabbing a yummy drink and listening to live tunes along the way.  That night, we’ll talk about editing tricks to get the best results from your images. We may even try our hands at more night photography!  Dinner included.

SUNDAY: We’re considering a brunch this morning with time to share our favorite photos for feedback. We’ll explore anything we missed the day before, and weather depending, possibly shoot the Bayou’s sunset and wildlife.  If weather doesn’t cooperate, no worries.  There is so much to explore and do in New Orleans, and rain never stops the music!  Our biggest challenge will be wanting more time! If your schedule allows, we encourage you to stay Sunday night and fly home Monday.  Brunch or dinner included.

This trip is also for those who can’t come away with us to Thailand, Italy or Greece for nine days.  Or it’s for those who can come and don’t want to wait a whole year until the next Portrait of the World Workshop and Tour!  This long weekend is your ticket of escape!  We heard your request for something within the Americas that starts on Friday and ends on Sunday.  Get ready for the weekend of your life!  On Friday and Saturday night dinners are included, along with either a Sunday brunch or dinner!

This (crazy fun) long weekend tour is designed for ALL levels of photography. Me Ra and Brian have been teaching photography workshops and traveling for two decades. Me Ra is one of the select, original Sony Artisans of Imagery since 2007, inspiring both beginners and pros. Brian is an award winning, published photographer, cinematographer and teacher.  They’re so EXCITED to photograph places like Cafe Amelie and shops like this and flea markets like this!

Whether you are a newbie who simply loves travel and taking photos or a pro wanting to be creatively refreshed, Me Ra and Brian will take you to new levels with your camera proficiency and creativity while exploring the mysteries and wonders of New Orleans.

We’ve reserved a block of rooms for an awesome rack rate at the quaint Hotel Provincial, located right in heart of the French Quarter!  Their courtyard is DARLING!  So picturesque!

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?

You’re responsible for breakfast and lunches (just to many yummy places to try for us to go as a group each day, we may need to divide and conquer).  Hotel is not included, but we have a group rate with our partner hotel above.  Transportation to and from the airport is not included.  We’ll be on foot once you arrive!

PAYMENT OPTIONS and CANCELLATION POLICY

You can pay in full or sign up for 4 automatic monthly payments. Payments will be divided over four months. It’s that easy!

If you run into any issues with registering for the payment plan, don’t hesitate to email us at info@fioria.us. Our team will get you set up right away.

For some reason if you should need to cancel, we will apply your payment(s) as credit to a future CONFIDENCE or online workshop within 24 months of your original workshop up to 45 days before the workshop weekend.

If you need to cancel within the 45 days leading up to the workshop, we will do our best to fill your spot and apply your payment(s) to a future workshop within the next 24 months. But we can’t guarantee this. If your spot cannot be filled within the 45 days, your workshop payment(s) will be forfeited. This is the policy for all our online and in-person workshops, excluding our travel Portrait of the World international workshops.
