When Halle started singing her voice filled the studio taking us all to another place. It was magical. Halle’s proud of all the work she’s put into her voice. And she should be! When she shared this with me, I was so excited to capture not just senior portraits, but senior portraits of a beautiful singer!
“I love being on stage, the adrenaline. It must be how basketball players feel when they make that final hoop. The rush of excitement, people cheering, re-affirming how much you love singing.
You take that final breath when you’re done, and everything feels right. You worked hard, and you did it. It’s a very cool feeling!”
There is so much heart in this young woman! Isn’t she BEAUTIFUL!
What Halle likes Most About Herself
Whenever we do a FIORIA Senior Portrait Experience, I love talking on the phone with the graduating senior beforehand. We don’t want these to just be pretty senior portraits, but senior portraits that are meaningful. When they see them, it triggers their happiness and confidence because it reminds them of what they like most about themselves–who they are.
I asked Halle to tell me three things she loves most about herself. It’s always an awkward question at first. You don’t want to sound like you think you’re “all that”. But I love how Halle leaned in. Not only is she proud of all the work she’s put into her voice, but she said “I like who I am.”
Halle’s Superpower
“If she had to pick a superpower, what would that be?” I asked.
“Caring. I work really hard with friendships, and I don’t give up on people easily. When my close friends are struggling, I never give up on them. I’m proud of that part of myself,” she answered.
When I asked her best friend the same question, Nicole didn’t hesitate! She said Halle’s superpower is how caring she is. “She doesn’t even realize how much she’s there for you. Halle takes time out of her life to show up for you in the big and small ways.”
This wasn’t just senior portraits of a beautiful singer, but a young woman who has had an incredible impact on her friends. (Side note, can’t you just see the above portrait in a Broadway playbill someday?!)
What Else Her Best Friend Said
I love how Nicole also used the word RELENTLESS to describe Halle. She’s watched Halle’s TikTok platform grow exponentially. When people have been mean or mad at her, she owns it, moves on, ALWAYS pushes through…Halle puts so much creativity and hard work into what she’s done with Tik Tok.”
Nicole also said Halle glows. Her smile BEAMS with joy! There is this sincere happiness within Halle that is so bright and fills the room.
But her number one word to describe what she loves most about Halle is PASSIONATE. Nicole has watched Halle work so hard with her singing since they were kids. I could tell Nicole was so proud to call Halle her best friend.
What Her Mom Said
Jamie is incredibly proud of her daughter. “Halle always brings happiness into every room she walks into; everyone always feels better when Halle is around. It’s her kindness! Even if she doesn’t like you at first, you’d never know. Halle will do something special for you.”
“She has a willingness to give people another chance. Halle sees the good in everyone and is incredibly forgiving.”
Her mom shared about the different challenges Halle has faced since she was a little girl. Challenges that would make any child grow up to be timid. But instead, one of Halle’s greatest strengths is how caring she is.
How This Builds Confidence
When I shared these words with Halle on the day of her photo shoot, she had tears in her eyes. She had no idea what three words they would choose to describe what they love most about her. Imagine how confidence-building it is to know the very thing she loves most about herself is what others cherish about her too.
What Halle’s Dad Loves
I called Halle’s dad, and with the first question he had me pause. He all at once realized this experience was much more meaningful than taking pretty photos or even simply senior portraits of a beautiful singer. Her dad asked if he could take the questions and spend some time thinking. He wanted to write out his answers for Halle to always have.
The morning of Halle’s shoot, I got to read this beautiful letter to her. I won’t share it all, but this one paragraph was so powerful;
“Halle is an enormously talented person. Most often I’m struck simply by her raw talent for performance. Her ability to capture an audience on stage is inspiring to me, and to everyone that experiences her. Offstage this is translated to a natural, effortless charisma.
She’s one of those special few people that transform a room simply by walking into it. Both of these talents stem from her heartfelt compassion. Halle feels deeply and genuinely for the people around her in a way that makes them feel seen and wanted. The world can’t help but respond to her in a positive way.”
Talking with Halle’s Grandma
I’m not sure their could be a more proud grandma than Suzanne! We had the best time talking about what she loved most in her granddaughter.
“Her flair for the dramatic! I’ll never forget when she was younger. The woman’s organization I was apart of had a fashion show with 600-800 people. Halle was one of the models. She was so confident coming down that runway and did a cartwheel! It felt amazing to see her confidence! Her beautiful smile was just beaming!”
“Halle is so very talented with music since she was little. Her vocal ability is incredible. Recently, she performed a classical piece that showcased her ability and range. I’m so proud of my granddaughter.”
Kevin, Her Stepdad’s Words
Brian had such a powerful conversation with Kevin. He described Halle’s strengths as how she sees the good in people. She wears her heart on her sleeve. “Halle’s heart is not caged. Even with everything she’s been through, Halle chooses kindness. Those attributes serve her future. Halle will pick herself up again and again and become more resilient. She takes the hurt and focuses it into caring for others and her work.”
“When Halle looks at these portraits, I hope they remind her of her ability to love no matter what’s thrown at her. How she turns adversity into strength. And that she doesn’t have to be perfect to get what she wants. She is good enough. No matter what she does, says, or fails at. Halle will always be good enough for me. Always be Halle. I will always love her unconditionally,” said Kevin.
What Her Mom Hopes Halle Feels
I asked her mom what she hopes Halle feels every time she sees her senior portraits of singing and the beautiful caring side of her. “Halle has no idea how beautiful she is. I want her to finally see herself the ways we always see her! How beautiful she is. That THIS is who you are!”
What Halle Wants to be Reminded Of
Halle told her mom, she wanted to see them when she comes down the stairs. Before she heads out for the day, she wants to be reminded “That’s me! I’m that person. To see me singing, doing what I love. I am beautiful. And I am also a good person because I can forget that.”

Seeing the look on your face when you first saw your artwork…my heart wanted to burst. You saw your beauty. For the first time, you finally get to see how BEAUTIFUL you are when you’re singing–fully letting go!
Brian and I will never forget how you filled the studio with your voice! Your family and friends are so right, your voice transports us to another place. It brought tears to my eyes! This was so much more than taking senior portraits of a beautiful singer. Halle, you are such a beautiful person inside and out.
