Family Photography: 14 Ways to Capture Dad’s Story

Dads Just Want to Have Fun

Throughout my years of photographing families, I’ve encountered every kind of culture and personality you can imagine.  Every family is different in their own way, yet all dads are the same.  Dads just want to have fun!  I did an interesting study by looking at what portrait(s) dads usually buy for their office desk after our photo shoot.  It wasn’t the portrait of dad sitting with the kids and smiling at the camera.  Nope.  It was almost always the portrait of dad playing, tickling, squeezing, and wrestling with the kids.  This blog post will give you a lot more family photography ideas for capturing dad’s story because there is a bigger story to who dad is in our lives.  But we’ve got to start with this story.  No matter how old dad and the kids are consider how you can tell the story of dad just wanting to have fun.
