Some women arrive at their calling in a straight line. Crystal is not one of them.

She has walked through more than most people ever know. Through decisions no one prepared her for. Through seasons where the ground shifted underneath her again and again. Yet somehow, in the middle of all of it, she kept gathering wisdom, kept believing in unapologetic hope, and kept building something quietly in the background that only now, this month, has a home in the world.

Her name is Crystal. Her new brand is called The Plot Twist Concierge. And a couple of years ago, Brian and I had the honor of doing her Brand Authority Experience at FIORIA in Frisco, Texas.

This blog post is a small window into her story, the day we spent collaborating with her on all the visuals to make her brand speak with clarity, and what it looks like when a woman finally gives her calling a visible home.

Before I ever photographed Crystal, I already loved her. She has been one of my dearest Frisco sisters for years. We have championed each other through some of the hardest and holiest seasons of our lives, and she has held space for me in ways I could never fully repay.

Crystal now guides women navigating the moments life did not warn them about. Her work is for the woman quietly wondering if she needs to make a major change. Additionally, her work is for the woman already in the middle of a plot twist and terrified of making the wrong move.

As The Plot Twist Concierge, Crystal does something most experts cannot do. She holds the whole picture while every attorney, financial advisor, and therapist on your team holds only their slice. Furthermore, she has lived through it herself. That is the difference.

The Story Behind the Photos

Two years ago, Crystal came to our studio for a Brand Authority Experience. At that point, she was still gathering the pieces of what would eventually become her launch. Meanwhile, she had already done extraordinary inner work. Her brand visuals needed to reflect the woman she was becoming, even before the world knew her name for it.

This is one of the things that makes the Brand Authority Experience different from a traditional photo shoot. We are not just taking headshots. Rather, we are helping a person visually meet the version of themselves that is coming, so their body, their team, and their audience can recognize her when she arrives.

For Crystal, that meant creating images that carried both the warmth of who she has always been and the authority of who she was becoming. Ultimately, the woman in these photos had to feel both like the friend you would call in a crisis and the professional you would trust with your most private questions.

What a Brand Authority Experience Actually Involves

The Brand Authority Experience is one day of neuroscience-informed branding in Frisco, Texas. It combines identity work, professional hair and makeup with our artist Ginger, a full branding photo shoot, multiple wardrobe changes, and a same-day cinematic reveal of the images before you leave the studio.

However, the neuroscience is what sets our approach apart. Just like our Rising Phoenix Experience, we begin with a Clarity Call, not only with you, but also with up to two of your ideal clients. If you don’t have clients yet, we call two people that you trust who embody your future ideal client. In those conversations, we gather the actual words your best clients use to describe you, what drew them to your work, and how they feel when they are in your presence. Consequently, your Brand Authority Blueprint (a strategic document of ten or more pages) is not built on assumptions. Rather, it is grounded in the voice of the people who already love what you do.

From there, the visual work begins. You receive professional hair and makeup with our artist Ginger, followed by a full branding photo shoot with me, with at least three outfit changes to reflect the full range of who you are becoming. Additionally, you experience a same-day cinematic reveal of your images before you leave the studio, plus four professionally retouched branding portraits optimized for web, LinkedIn, and print. We also include one or two sample social posts that show you exactly how to apply your new brand language to your new visuals.

For a woman like Crystal, who guides other women through transitions, this mattered enormously. Her clients need to feel her steadiness before they ever meet her. Every photo we made had to do that work quietly, underneath the surface.

The Work of Becoming Takes Time

This is what I most want to say about Crystal, and why her story sits inside our Book of Becoming.

Almost two years passed between our Brand Authority day and Crystal’s public launch. Two years of quiet building. During that time, she worked with a business coach to clarify what her heart was actually meant to offer. Additionally, she partnered with a web designer to build a home for the offering. Along the way, she also worked with my dear friend and fellow Frisco photographer, Vanessa Coral, whose beautiful photos live throughout Crystal’s site alongside ours.

What I love about Crystal’s timeline is that she did not rush. She let her own healing journey have space and breath. Some dreams take longer to launch than we ever expect them to. Nevertheless, good things take time, especially when they have been birthed from our own becoming.

She trusted the pace. She stayed with it. Now, two years later, the launch is happening exactly when it was supposed to.

I will never forget the moment she saw the branding photos at her same-day reveal. Consequently, what I saw on her face was recognition. Not surprise. Not delight. Recognition. She was seeing herself the way her calling had been asking her to see herself for years.

“When I signed up for the FIORIA Branding session with Me Ra, I was in the aftermath of seemingly back-to-back high-stakes plot twists in my own life.
