Running on Empty

“Here’s how it works!

In honor of how wonderful moms are and all that they do and give, Brian and I keep one spot reserved in every workshop for a special mom like YOU! That’s right, you (or she) will get a free pass to the upcoming CONFIDENCE! Workshop in the Seattle area! (Please note, we don’t provide room/board and travel.)

To nominate a mom, you must post a comment telling us about the mom who you think deserves a big break in life! If you are a mom, you’re probably laughing because we ALL deserve a serious break. But the moms we’re looking for are the ones who have had a ridiculous amount of stress in their life whether from trauma or things just not going her way this year. She is a mom in your life that needs a serious blessing to come her way. She needs a serious surprise that gives her empty tank some fuel. If she is a woman that has miscarried, she is still a mom in my mind b/c I know her heart became a mother’s heart the moment she found out she was pregnant. Don’t hesitate to nominate her too.

I’m proud to say that some of our previous winners stepped out on a limb and nominated themselves. Take courage in them and feel free to nominate yourself if you know you need a serious break. Who knows, you may have your house remodeled by Oprah!”

We’ll collect all the nominees, have a committee of wonderful moms vote, and then announce the winner in the next two weeks! Being as wonderful as they are, it’s not an easy job. As one said recently, “After reading each story I’d say, ‘I’m voting for HER’.”  Each one of you is so deserving.

Nominate her today and turn her day around!  Oh, wait!  Don’t forget to let her know you’ve nominated her too! If I was a mom nominated I’d love to know my friends were thinking of me whether I won or not! Deadline for ALL nominations is Friday, April 22nd at 6pm PST. Nominations MUST be posted as a comment on this blog post.  Nominations emailed or posted on other blog posts may be overlooked. Please post all nominees here. Thanks! (A tip: write in Word or other program first, then cut and paste over – just in case.:))

I am going WAY out on a limb here & nominating myself for the “Running on Empty” spot. I have been riding emotional roller coaster of “unexplained infertility” for three years. During that time, I have questioned God and seen more of my human nature than I care to admit.
Tears poured down my face this afternoon as I absorbed the news. For the first time in years, the saltiness running down my cheeks were tears of JOY! My hubby and I just received word that our application into an Ethiopia adoption program has been accepted!
I’ve never seen the two pink lines on a pregnancy test, but for the first time on this long, painful journey, I feel pregnant. Paper pregnant, but pregnant none the less. I am finally going to be a MOM!
As exciting as today is, there is still so much more waiting ahead. Instead of nine months, I’m preparing for 12-18 or more. There are so many people to share the news with. And even still…more trusting in the Lord’s perfect timing.

  2. Amie Ware says:

I have never met her but I read her blog everyday. She is truely a woman running on empty. Her precious daughter Maddie past away a few months ago to SIDS. She blogs about her daily struggles and she has been such a strong woman through everything she has been dealt. She wants wants to start a photography business and I think that going to one of your workshops is just what she needs!! You can read her blog to know more… I am not very good at writting things like this… http://kandjstaats.blogspot.com/
I think that she is definately a mom needing a break!

  3. Sherry Kildow says:

I would like to nominate Veronica Bernal for the “Running on Empty” contest. Veronica is an amazing person. She is the mother of two, stepmom to one, and school mom to 16-20 boys and girls. I first met Veronica, when we were interviewing for a second grade teacher. It was obvious from the moment I met her, that she was a very confident and caring young woman. She had a 4 month old baby boy and was willing to start a brand new career as a bilingual second grade teacher. All new jobs require a lot of energy, but for Veronica to start a new career this also meant she had to enroll in “I Teach Texas” program. This involved on line classes, supervisor visits, and hours of lesson preparation, all with a 4 month old. There were days I would pass her in the hall and she looked like a young woman running on empty. A few months into the school year, she thought she had the flu. To her surprise, she did not have the flu but was pregnant. She had a beautiful baby girl just nine months after her little boy was born. Her little girl had several health issues at first. Veronica would come to school to care for her other 20 children, with little or no sleep the night before. She is a wonderful stepmom. She leaves school on Friday afternoons to drive 6 hours to pick up her stepdaughter for the weekend and return her on Sunday. She gives thanks to God everyday of her life. She is constantly telling all those around her that God will provide for her. Veronica has a passion for photography. This workshop would enable her to have a break in such a busy life. Please help her to pursue her passion for photography. Veronica is a mom running on empty.

This time around I’m going to be a bit bold and nominate myself. I truly believe that finding Me Ra and her website has changed my life (I think of her as my Me Ra Koh Miracle). It all started when my husband and I found out we were going to have a baby. It was such an exciting time and boy did we think we had everything planned out. We sure were a couple of ding-a-lings. I just figured I would go back to work after about 8 weeks. The moment I laid eyes on our son, I knew it would be impossible to leave his side. We worked out a few things, gave up a lot of luxuries and decided I would be able to become a stay-at-home mom. Words cannot describe how happy this made me! Only a week after I quit my job, we got the news that our tax refund would be pushed back due to increased audits on newly purchased homes, like ours. It was discouraging because we were going to use that money to pay off our medical bills.

First, our son was born with a right club foot. It’s not anything life-threatening, thank goodness, but it did require medical attention right away. He had his first full-leg cast at only 5 days old. I was heartbroken. When we went in, we thought it was just a consultation, but they decided it would be best to cast it ASAP. We had his newborn photos scheduled for just hours later. Tears rolled down my face as I tried to come to grip with the fact that we weren’t going to get any of those cute, completely naked baby pictures, or the ones with two adorable feet. As they twisted his foot and wrapped the cast around, I just wanted to scoop up our crying baby and run as far away as possible. He had casts on for 6 weeks, then had surgery, followed by 6 more weeks of casts. Then he had to wear a metal brace on his feet all the time until he was 6 months and then only had to wear it at night.

In addition to his club foot, he was born with a hemangioma that started to grow a few weeks after birth. It’s basically a tumor made up of a cluster of blood vessels. His is right on his forehead between his eyes. We honestly don’t even notice it anymore, but you can bet that EVERYONE comments on it. Not all comments are bad, but we have gotten more judgmental looks in the past year than I can count. It was especially bad when he had his cast and his bump on his head (he was only a couple months old, so people thought we were responsible for his “injuries”). To make things worse, I often get told I “look like I’m 12.” I’m 23. I feel like people think I’m young and irresponsible. When he was 3 months old I didn’t take him out in public for almost a month. After everyone’s stares and whispers, I was just so scared someone would call social services and have them take our baby away thinking it was abuse. Since then, we’ve tried to become immune to the comments and ugly stares, but it’s so hard. Just the other day my eyes started to tear up in the middle of Target. I had to get out of there fast.

To keep a long story from becoming a novel, we had our son in January, but our tax refund didn’t come in until July. I was unable to find a job that would make any money after covering childcare. Our medical bills piled up, many went to collections and we were trapped at staying at home (no gas to spare). It’s been a long year trying to catch up, and we’re just now starting to breathe again. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful baby boy. We can’t imagine our life without him! Capturing moments with our son brings me such great joy. Me Ra is such a huge inspiration and being able to attend one of her workshops would be amazing. Since finding her blog, I have become a happier person. My husband and our son have always brought me joy, but photography gives me the creative outlet I crave. I’m just starting out, but have so much to learn.

I would like to nominate my sister Tracilee for the May Seattle 2011 Running on Empty Contest. Before my nieces second birthday my sister and her family moved to Idaho; away from her family in northern Alberta, Canada. Over time we have managed to overcome the challenges of living in different countries; but technology doesn’t offer the comfort that prescence gives when your family is faced with a year like the one Trac has perservered through. One year ago, my sister miscarried her second child while in her second trimester. My sister hadn’t planned to have a second child but as she progressed through her pregnancy she realized how blessed she was. As she reached the end of her first trimester the excitement grew. It was like a rollercoaster reaching the top of a hill; the climb was hard but the view was amazing! But then, it came tumbling down; the baby’s heart beat stopped. Not having her family close made it even more difficult; but through this experience Trac realized how important it was for her to capture her living daughters life. She started carrying her camera everywhere. She now captures all of my nieces’s precious moments from autumn leaves and winter snow to first dance classes and blogs about them. Photography has given my sister the the strength to persevere. This strength was tested only 7 months later. My sister lost her “second mom” in a fatal accident. Marilyn was that woman in Trac’s life that shared a pedestal with our mom. Just like mom, Marilyn was a comfort to my sister, she provided an ear when nobody was listening and a shoulder to cry on especially during Trac’s critical teenage years. So for a second time in one year my sister is left asking, why? Trac continues to face her grief by living in the present, living for her daughter and her family and capturing every detail. I would like to encourage her to continue; to capture her story and share it through images. I ask that you give her the confidence that she needs to continue her journey and capture those precious seconds. Please help her to fuel her tank.

  6. Jessi says:

I would like to also nominate Maddie’s mom, Kellie Staats. She was nominated above, but I would like to add to it. This woman has been through so much, and yet she keeps going and building her relationship with her husband. She has been feeling really pulled through the muck with Mother’s Day coming up, feeling like she’s less of a mom. She’s been cheated out of a lifetime with her beautiful baby girl who was taken before her time, but is looking forward to having a photography business in her daughter’s name to honor the time that she was here.

Her blog is now called “Another Day Stronger” and the link is http://kandjstaats.blogspot.com/ and her husband just started a blog as well, called The Best is Yet to Come. His link is http://james-thebestisyettocome.blogspot.com/

Please consider this amazing woman who truly deserves it!

  7. Brandy Ingerick says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. She is the woman Aime Ware is talking about in her nomination. She lost her precious baby girl to SIDS and it is such a sad but touching story how so many people have come together and followed her story. Good luck Kellie…and if you win we definitely need to get together while you are here!!!

  8. Lauren Kong says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. She is a wonderful mom who lost her daughter to SIDS a few months ago and although she doesn’t deal with the day to day challenges of a baby at this time, she is going through so much more than I think most of us can imagine. She is a wonderful mom and has taught me patience, kindness and understanding. I’ve learned to love harder because of her and that is why I think she would be great for this. She truly has changed my life. Even though her daughter isn’t physically here, she carries her everywhere… from the photography business she is starting, to her boutique on facebook and to the bracelet she wears in honor of her daughter and I truly believe she needs this but would be so appreciative as well!!!

  9. Amber Bray says:

I also would like to nominate Kellie Staats. Although she has been mentioned above by two other women, I couldn’t resist supporting their nominations. I must admit, I have never met Kellie or even spoken to her for that matter (other than comments on her blog), but she has changed my life dramatically. The way she has handled her daughter’s death due to SIDS has impacted me on a daily basis. She comes across my mind EVERY day and reminds me to be appreciative of every second. I now stress a lot less with my 6 month old baby girl because Kellie has reminded me of how blessed I am. Sleepless nights, crying fits in the middle of a quiet restaurant, spit up on my work clothes, the never ending laundry bin…all of those things I LOVE now because I know how lucky I am to experience them. Kellie is a true inspiration to me and I truly believe God sends people into your life to remind you to not take things for granted. I wear my “Maddie” bracelet from MamaBracelets everyday and say a short prayer for Kellie during our moment of silence at school. Please send her to your conference so that she may refresh, relax and refill her tank! She refills the tanks of so many other people on a daily basis and truly deserves this opportunity! Thanks for supporting all of the “moms” out there!

  25. I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. Though we have never met her story has touched my heart and I will never forget her and her story. She and her husband lost their sweet daughter, Maddie to SIDS on my birthday. She has shown nothing but strength, courage and love since her daughter’s passing. She truly has showed me (and many, many others) what it is to love and have lost love. Photography is something that she has mentioned many times that she loves and wants to learn more about and I think she totally deserves this opportunity.

  26. Andrea says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats for this awesome opportunity. She has been through so much and endured more heart ache in the past 9 weeks than most people I know. She lost her beautiful baby girl to SIDs 9 weeks ago and could really use this. I don’t know her personally, but I read her blog every day, and can honestly say she’s touched my heart and has taught me to never take a second with my daughter for granted. I cannot think of a person who could use this, and deserves this, more than Kellie. http://kandjstaats.blogspot.com/ is where you can find her.

  27. Jennifer Ramsey says:

Though I have never met her, I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. Kellie lost her beautiful daughter, Madison, to SIDS in February. I cannot imagine what she is feeling or going through. I would like to nominate Kellie Staats! I read her blog daily & she’s such a strong woman! Shr lost her baby to SIDS & is looking to photography to heal some of her hurt! She’s deserves every bit of this as I hope to never have to go thru anything like this cause I don’t think I could be half the woman she is!!!

  30. I am definitely running on empty. I struggle daily to wake up and put a smile on my face, but I do for my daughter. I know she can see me even tho she is not physically here. She is in heaven you see. Maddie passed away on February 17th at the babysitters house. She was just 4 months and 3 days old. She was the love of my life! My husband and I never got to say goodbye. They would not let us into her room at the hospital. This pain and emptiness will never go away but it is lighted by photography.
I have always loved to take pictures..but after Maddie passed away I decided it was my time to pursue this passion. I am in the process of setting up a website and have my first “real” photo shoot this weekend. I have never taken a formal photography class, so everything I know is self taught. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to take this class to future learn more of photography. I am a teacher so I know “hands on” is my learning style.
I want nothing more then to keep my daughters memory alive. I have named my photography business and craft business after her. (Madison Paige Photography). So the beautiful pictures I take are truly a gift from an angel.
Thank you for letting me share my story, and I hope I will get to chance to learn more at your conference.

  31. Koushatta says:

  33. jennifer baker says:

I recommend Kellie Staats. This well deserving mother has been dealt the hand that none of us ever want to experience and that is the loss of their child. Not just a child but her precious angel Madison, also know as her Maddiebug. Their first child was needed in a better place at just four months. She has found a way to help her heal and cope with her tragedy through photography. Should she be selected she would gain a great deal of knowledge and more inspiration which her sweet maddiebug always seems to be showing her from heaven. Good Luck Kellie you deserve this & to Maddie help your mommy make it through sweetheart.

She always took pictures of precious Maddie & would now like to start her own photography business. This opportunity would be so great for her, she could use this break. She is making a difference in our world. I follow her blog everyday, sometimes i cry, i just could not imagine what she must be going thru, i can not imagine not seen, carrying, bathing, or touching my baby girl. It would be with great honor to nominate Kellie Staats! She is running on empty and this would be a perfect opportunity to fuel and energize her! Kellie’s PASSION for photography is evident through her pictures of her dearly beloved daughter Maddie who went to be with Jesus at 4 months. Life was taken from her and this would be a perfect opportunity to put life back into her! This would be a perfect god-sent journey for Kellie so she can learn from the best and see that good things will happen and God will continue to bless her throughout her life. Her “lens” can be turned slighty to capture love and the beauty of God and all the blessings and gifts that we are given here on earth!

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. She has had such a rough, overwhelming year that she could really use a break. Her story of losing her young daughter to SIDS and yet how she continues to go on every day is truely inspiring to me. I know if that was me, my world would have stopped. I think she is the most deserving of this workshop. Even though Kellie is full of hope and inspiration, she is still running on empty some days and this workshop could “fill her up” which she very much needs at this rough time in her life. Thank You for letting me nominate one of the most deserving women in the world. Kellie you are an inspiration to all moms everywhere. Good Luck!!!

  52. Keena Miller says:

I am here to put in another nomination for Kellie Staats. She has touched my life in a way that she will probably never know. “Running on Empty” is an understatement. Here is a mom living through a complete and utter nightmare, and yet somehow she finds the strength to make a positive difference in this world. She is a beautiful example of strength, hope, and perserverance. And on top of all that, she is incredibly talented. I would love for her to be able to attend this conference to help her fulfill her dream – to become an amazing photographer. Photography brings her joy, and joy is essential to healing. I believe she deserves this, without a doubt.

  62. Amber R says:

Though I’ve never met her Kellie Staat has touched my life and I am
Nominating her. Life has dealt her the most difficult thing a mother ever has to deal with, losing a child. Her precious MaddieBug went to Heaven when she was four months old. I believe Kellie needs to win this contest and be able to attend this seminar for healing and being able to have a new beginning. “running on empty” doesn’t even touch what she is going through. Please conside Kellie Staat!

  63. Sallie says:

Even though I can see that a lot of people have already nominated her, I too, would like to nominate Kellie Staats. This is a woman I have never met but has inspired me to be a better mother. The loss of her precious Maddie has had an impact on my life and made me realize to never take a moment with our precious children for granted. Kellie has had to endure every moms worst nightmare and she has done so with such a faith in God and a determination to make something of Maddies short life here on earth. She is now spreading word on SIDS and raising money to go to SIDS research. She is an inspiration!

    Kellie needs and DESERVES this!

  64. Shannon says:

I would also like to nominate Kellie Staats. When I read her blog, I feel the love that she has for her precious Maddie. I know that she would do anything to bring her back into this world, even if just for a minute. Kellie has used her blog to educate other mothers, and to remind them to appreciate every minute that they have with their children. I know this would bring joy into her life, and she definitely deserves that right now, more than anyone I can think of!

  65. Catherine says:

Hi, my name is Catherine. I too would like to nominate my best friend for this spot. Kellie Staats @ kandjstaats.blogspot.com. Kellie lost her sweet 4 month old, Maddie, in Feb and her life will never be the same. She was born to be a mommy she was/is an amazing mommy. She works everyday to keep her daughters memory alive. She has been so strong and so amazing through her greif. I can honestly say that because Ive been by her side from the hospital, where she found out Maddie had gone to be with the angels, thru today. We’ve cried together and laughed about Maddies memories together. Weve also gone through hundreds of pictures Kellie took of Maddie in her 4 short months. These pictures are a cherished memory for Kellie, her husband, family and friends. Shes been an inspiration. When she lost her precious Maddie she realized how short life was and decided to start doing things she loved. As long as Ive known her shes loved taking pictures. She takes it more seriously than just a hobby, its a passion. She deserves a spot in your workshop. Since Maddie left her shes turned to photography and crafting and has found such comfort in those things. She wants to find ways to perfect her craft. Her dream is to one day be a mommy again to an angel here on earth and be able to stay home with him/her and have a career in photography in Maddies name. I know how much a place in this workshop would mean to her. Shes incredible with a camera (infact shes taking my maternity pics this weekend) but I know how much she could learn from this. Shes been an inspiration to so many. Shes a mommy who definitely deserves a break. She deserves this. She wants this. She needs this.

  66. Celina Serenil says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. Although I do not know her personally, I read her blog over and over everyday. As a future elementary school teacher, I understand her PASSION for children. Kellie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl October 14. By her blog posts and pictures, you could feel the love she had for her sweet Maddiebug. A few months later she recieved a call that every mother NEVER wants to recieve. Her precious baby girl had stopped breathing. It has been 4 months since her princess recieved her angel wings and she is amazing!! Working with 5 year olds, asking questions about your babywhat happened to her, and where she went is just one thing that makes her “run on empty.” She has made a hobby out of photography and bow making to help her cope with her loss. This seminar would be a great first mother’s day gift for Kellie, a first time mom on her very first mothers day without her Maddiebug to share it with her.

  67. Suzanne D. says:

She has a passion for photography which can be seen in the pictures many pictures she took of her sweet angel baby. She has reminded me of how important it is to cherish your children. She recently blogged to suggest to other moms to take pictures of your children every single day. I think of her daily even though she does not know me. I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. She lost her precious angel, Maddie, to SIDS. I have never met her, but she has touched not only my life, but many others in ways she will never know. She is truly one of the strongest mothers I know. She has taken this tragedy and turned it into a way to educate and raise awareness about SIDS. She has also made all that know of her story realize how precious life is and appreciate their children and families so much more.

After the loss of Maddie, Kellie turned to her natural talent of photography to fill her time. She does everything in honor of her guardian angel, Maddie. This opportunity could help her on this new path, as she strives to create a life and profession that will allow her to stay home with her future children.

Kellie is doing everything she can to make the best out of her situation. She is doing wonderful things to help spread awareness with SIDS. I have seen posts where she has reached out to other mothers who are experiencing a similar loss. Kellie has also expressed numerous times how much she loves photography and wants to get better and better at it. The Staats family has touched so many lives, I know she and Maddie have forever touched mine. I believe she truly deserves this, Kellie has a dream to stay home with her future children and I believe this will help further her future career as a photographer and allow her to live her dream. I have never met this wonderful woman but think no one deserves this more than her. Please pick Kellie Staats for this!

  78. Ashley Forestieri says:

Another vote for Kellie Staats. Her beautiful pictures of her family and daughter truly show a natural eye for photography. She has expressed the desire to learn and improve her skills. 80. Nicole says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. I have been reading her blog for about a couple of months now and also following her page on FB. Someone forwarded me a link to an event inviting me to wear a bow for Maddie. That event had a link to her blog http://kandjstaats.blogspot.com/. I had just come home from work on a Friday and my 2 1/2 year old baby girl was taking a nap. I started reading her blog and just about lost it. I cried for quite some time looking at my daughter and trying to fathom how it would feel to lose a child. Kellie’s strength is amazing. I am honestly not sure if I would be able to go on… yet she does, every day, and continues to share her experience in the hope of helping others. She also just ran an auction with another mother to benefit SIDS and I believe they raised about $3000 so far. Reading her words are so inspiring and I feel that she deserves this chance. Please pick Kellie Staats :).

  81. Amy Shepherd says:

  83. jennilin says:

I would like to nominate Kelli Staats. From afar I have been a follower and have become so intrigued by her story of how she lost her precious baby girl after only having shared a few short months. So often we forget the moms who lose their child all together. There one day, gone the next. They’re more of a mom than any in my book, they find a way to love their child unconditionally even after God has called them home. Kelli’s tank is on empty but she finds the strength everyday to wake up and find a way to be human despite the tragic events that have surrounded her and her husband. Aside from all the sadness though, I would love to see Kelli win this not only because she deserves it but because the beauty in her photography. The ambition she has to learn more and find a way to capture the essence of life around her inspires me. To see her art grow would be another beautiful journey of hers to follow. This mom lets her beauty show everyday through all she has touched with her story! Good luck Kelli!

  84. trish price says:

I, too, would like to nominate Kellie Staats to attend the workshop. Like most of the other women who have already nominated her, I don’t personally know Kellie, but nevertheless, she has impacted my life forever. I was introduced to her blog, “Another Day Stronger”, a couple of months ago, and when I read her story, I literally sobbed for hours. I am a mother to a precious 10-month-old little girl, and I simply cannot fathom what I would do or how I would feel if I ever lost her. Kellie lost her baby girl, Madison, to SIDS. Something that we all think will “never happen to us”. It happened to Kellie. She has been living her worst nightmare for over two months, and yet she has never let her faith waver. The fact that she can pull herself out of bed every morning to face a new day without her baby girl speaks volumes to how strong she is. The fact that she has brought together a community of thousands of people from all over the country (if not the world) who have never even met her, but yet think about her every day speaks volumes to how “real” she is. I probably won’t ever meet Kellie. But I know her. And I care about her. And she needs this. Desperately. Please consider her for the open spot at the conference. It would be such a blessing to her.

  92. Savanna says:

We have shared so much even though we have never met! we speak nearly everyday! The day, and weeks, following the passing of her sweet beautiful angel have been some of the hardest of my life. I cannot even imagine how they have been for her.
She has a natural talent! What she would recieve from your event couldn’t be measured. I believe she will excell at this and could benefit greatly from your event. Not only would she benefit but you would as well. It would be a blessing to have met someone so inspirational. It may seem selfish, but when her daughter passed Kellie’s blog helped me to see things positively and not dwell in the past!

I nominate Kellie Staats. I don’t know her personally, but like many am inspired by her strength & passion. She wakes up each day “running on empty”. Her little angel is gone from her arms & her home is empty of her daughters physical presence. Yet, she finds strength to keep going because of the love in her heart & the spiritual presence of her baby angel. Kellie’s ability to bring joy, love & life will make her an excellent photographer. Her passion comes from a place that many can never comprehend.

  143. Kristen says:

From reading her blog she has made me a better mommy to my 4 1/2 month old little girl. While reading her blog I came across a REALLY good piece of advice. It was to take pictures and to take them everyday because you never know what may happen and you will be so glad that you have them. If I lived closer to Kellie it would be an absolute honor to be able to have her photograph my daughter. She is very deserving of this opportunity.

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. To lose a child is the most devastating loss any human can endure. I too lost my son to SIDS almost five years ago. Kelly is truly an inspiration. To step up and find a way to raise money for SIDS such a short time after her tragic loss is truly amazing, she truly deserves this and I think it will be a wonderful thing for her as she tries to find as I always put it “The new normal”. Best of luck Kellie! From one Angel Mommy to another!!!

  151. Amber says:

Please pick her she deserves it she has inspired me to become a better mom, and to take more time out to spend and play with my babies.

  154. I would like to nominate Kellie Statts. Her blog has really touched me, like so many other people have said. My baby girl is 1 month younger then her sweet Maddie. I found her blog a few days after her maddie passed away. All I could do was hold my daughter close and give her kisses as I cried and read her story. We’ve had to deal with some medical issues with my baby, and I just hold her close and let her know I love her all the time. Kellie’s story has touched and inspired so many people. She has shown such strength and courage as she has dealt with Maddie’s loss. She wants to do Photography, it’s a passion of hers that she would love to follow. She hopes to one day have another baby, and to be able to be a stay at home mom for that baby and photography will help her be able to do that. Good Luck Kellie!

If you take the time to read it (kandjstaats.blogspot.com) not only would you also vote for her a million times but your heart will be forever changed. Just by reading it I’m a better mom, child care provider, wife and person. Her strengh and love is inspirational. She wants to do photograghy to help heal from losing little Maddie. She has named her venture Madison Paige Photography and I think this is an amazing way to keep Maddies spirit alive. This class and time to relax would help Kellie in her journey. God has a beautiful new angel and we are all blessed and touched by her being here. Love, Hugs & Maddiebugs! Team KELLIE!!!!!!!!!!

  161. I nominate Kellie Staats!!!! She is such an inspiration to all parents, especially moms. I’ve read on her blog many times that she wishes to be a “great photographer”. This opportunity would give her a chance to not only jump start her dream, but also heal from losing her precious baby Maddie. She has had a rough few months and and im almost positive she is running on empty.
    Team Kellie!!!!! 🙂

  169. Jessi says:

I wanted to add to my nomination above for Kellie Staats — she also corroborated with another mom to have money be donated to the American SIDS institute for SIDS research in their daughter’s names. Then, she helped organize an auction, which has raised over $3,000 to help in researching what causes SIDS. She continues to move forward, and is really wanting a chance to make her dreams of becoming a photographer and a mom a reality. Please give her this amazing opportunity. Not because she has so many fans. Not because her world fell apart about 2 months ago. But because she continues on. Because she deserves this. She has that passion you’re looking for, and she continues to move forward… truly running on empty.

  170. Cassandra Cummings says:

I would LOVE to nominate Kellie Staats. I have never met Kellie in person but I started reading her blog a few months ago and she has touched me as well as hundreds of other people.

  180. James says:

I would like to nominate my wife Tina, I would love to send her to this class but cannot afford the cost. Tina has gone through a lot in her life and has finally found something she loves to do, photography. As a child growing up she was bounced between her mothers family and her step dad’s, she never really had a stable home environment. To get away from all of this and to provide a future for her self she joined the Navy and trained to be a surgical tech. She loved the work and would probably still be doing this but at some point during her training her back was damaged. She went in for surgery to have it repaired but the fusion failed and her nerve was damaged. She now struggles to to get around and is on opiates to help with her pain, she can no longer work and photography is her only recourse, she loves it because she can take her time and work at her own pace. To top all this off we have been struggling with fertility issues and aren’t able to conceive a child on our own even with IVF and multiple IUI’s. Thank god we were able to arrange an adoption with one of our cousins and now are raising a beautiful baby girl. Its a constant struggle for wife to keep up with my daughter and try to live a normal life. She crys alot and our relationship isnt the best it could be because of all the stress. I would love for her to be able to attend this, I think it would really help her outlook and give her a strong start to doing something she loves.

  181. Amanda says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. She is such a strong and amazing woman given the hand that God has dealt her and her family. I think about Kellie and her precious Maddiebug daily. They have touched the lives of so many people including myself, and I am inspired everyday give as much love as I possibly can. From reading her blog I know Kellie would be so thankful for an experience such as this and she is absolutely deserving of it. This would help her fulfill her dream of learning photography and allowing her beautiful baby girl to live on through the lives of so many people.

  182. Kayla Dempsey says:

I would first like to say good luck to all nominees.
Second of all, I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. I do not know Kellie personally, but I have been following her blog for the past 3 months. Kellie is a mother of a little girl, Maddie, who was taken too soon to heaven due to SIDS only 4 months after she blessed this Earth. Kellie is an inspiring woman who is strong, amazing, and genuine. She deserves to have this opportunity more than you know.
Kellie has touched the lives of so many people and I know that she would use this experience to touch so many more! Please give her this opportunity to heal in a healthy and positive way and make her dream of becoming an amazing photographer come true!
Good Luck to all again. TEAM KELLIE! <3

  183. Tracy says:

I would also (along with many) like to nominate Kellie Staats at http://kandjstaats.blogspot.com/ I’ve never met her but I read her blog daily.
While most moms need a break from the hectic life with children, I think Kellie needs a break from the heartbreak of MISSING that hectic life with her baby. In her blog she mentions that she struggles with not feeling like a “real mom” anymore. I think her winning this opportunity would help reinforce that this is not true! She is still just as much of a mom needing a break and running on empty as a mom with 12 kids is (perhaps more so emotionally). Please choose her!

  184. Jessica says:

I would also like to nominate Kellie Staats of kandjstaats.blogspot.com.

  185. Tina says:

I nominate Kellie Staats. I have been following her unfortunate story for the last two months, and my heart breaks for her and her family every day. She is a VERY strong woman and deserves this so much! Especially seeing as though she is getting so much more into photography, since the passing of her infant daughter.
Thanks! and good luck to ALL nominees!!

  187. Shelley says:

Please consider Kellie Staats! I too, like many others, have never met her. I do follow her blog though. She has been through such unimaginable heartbreak and my heart hurts for her EVERY time I read about her daily struggles. I have a son who is exactly one month younger than her Maddie and I could not imagine life without him. Kellie has turned her tragedy into something positive though……raising money and awareness for SIDS. Plus, she is an amazing bow maker:) I also know she is very passionate about photography. Good luck, Kellie!! You deserve this!!

  188. Ashley Anderson says:

I nominate Kellie Staats! She lost her baby girl Maddie to SIDS and it the definition of running on empty! She is very passionate about photography! I would love to be a small part in what helped get her to the point where she could practice her photography full time! She is truly inspirational and takes wonderful photographs!

  192. Aimee says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. I do not know Kellie personally, but have read her blog. My heart aches for her, and the pain she and her family have to endure. She is an inspiration. This workshop sounds like a great way for her to learn more about photography so that she can pursue her dream of having her own photography business. If anyone deserves to win this, it is her.

  193. Erika says:

I would also like to nominate Kellie Statts. She is a true inspiration to many women with and without children! She has been through so much due to the loss of her and James “Maddiebug”! She is such a strong woman and if anyone deserves it, it would be her!

  194. Maria says:

I also want to nominate Kelli Staats. She lost her baby girl in February and has been running on empty ever since. Just because her little angel is not with her anymore does not mean she is not a mom. She has lost so much and is a truly inspirational person. She really deserves this.

  195. Heidi says:

Please…as you can see this woman and her daughter have TOUCHED us so deeply. She deserves for something positive to happen to her. I pray that you choose her. Do this for her all the Mother’s who have lost their child. I nominate with all my heart Kellie Staats!!!!!!

  196. Chantel says:

I know several others have already nominated her but I feel Kellie Staats is definitely worthy of this opportunity. I have been following Kellie’s blog for a few months now and am amazed at the strength she is able to muster having lost her precious baby girl. I am NOT nominating her just because I am sorry for her loss, I am nominating her because not only has she come a long way in her journey towards healing (using photography as an outlet for the pain) making this conference the perfect opportunity for her to continue getting “Another Day Stronger,” but Kellie has also invested alot of time raising awareness and collecting donations for the American SIDS Institute in the hopes of helping find a cure so other families don’t have to go down the same road of losing a precious child to SIDS, I think it’s absolutely amazing that a woman who recently lost her daughter and is clearly “running on empty” is able to dedicate her time and what little energy she can muster to a much larger cause!

  197. Stephanie Iber says:

I would also like to nominate Kellie Staats! This amazing woman has been through more than most people could handle yet still has a wonderful outlook on life. Please, please, please pick Kellie!!!

  198. Ashley says:

I pray that God helps her win this. GOod luck sweetie

  207. AnnaLisa says:

I would like to also nominate Maddie’s mom, Kellie Staats. .

  208. Melissa says:

I guess I really don’t have to explain why I am here to nominate Kellie (Staats).. It seems we are all on the same page… I also read her blog daily and with having a daughter myself, that is 14 months… Kellie has made me realize how lucky I am… and how important it is to capture simple moments on film… If her story alone has made this difference in my life… (and the many people above)… IMAGINE what her photography will do… Above all… she needs this… and for more reasons than just “running on empty”… Good luck Kellie… we pray for you, your husband… and Maddie… daily :))

  210. Tiffany says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. My sister told me about her blog about a month and a half ago. You see, I too am a mother of a child who lost their life too soon due to SIDS. I lost my little boy when he was 2 months and 18 days old. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. It has been a year and a half since then and Kellie’s blog has reminded me of the daily struggles I went through. If Kellie is reading these amazing nominations…KELLIE IT DOESNT GO AWAY BUT IT GETS BETTER. trust me!
She deserves this. I now have a 3 month old daughter and I sometimes get frustrated when she throws up on me after I have gotten dressed for the day and then I stop and embrace the smell (after I have cleaned it up) because of Kellie’s blog. I started taking a picture a day of my daughter because I don’t ever want to miss a thing and feel regret like I did with my son.
I wish you all the luck in the world Kellie. Me Ra Koh committee…give this woman a chance at starting her business to honor her beautiful daughter Maddie Bug! xo

  211. Malerie says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats.. I began reading her blog a few months ago and no one has inspired me to take more pictures and really make sure that every memory is captured.. The posed ones, the every day moments and the faces my baby makes from smiles to cries…. I think she deserves this opportunity as truely she is and will always be a mother, but what other situation other than the horrible one she has gone through could drain a mother more? She is really running on empty.

  212. Laura Sims says:

I nominate Kellie Staats. She is such an amazing woman that really could use this right now. She lost her 4 month old daughter in February and she has been so strong. She is a great photographer that would love this class.

  213. Sara says:

I would like to nominate my sister-in-law Laura Jaime for a spot in this May’s Confidence Workshop.

This year started with great hopes, as Laura and my brother Brett were expecting their first baby in June. But on January 17, at their “gender ultrasound,” Laura and Brett received the devastating news that their daughter had serious problems evident on ultrasound, and eventually a diagnosis of triploidy was reached. With triploidy, a baby has an extra set of chromosomes, an extra set that means the baby cannot survive. At best, Laura was told that she could hope for a few hours with her baby after delivery, and she was advised to seriously consider termination of the pregnancy.

Laura bravely opted though to continue on, armed only with her strong faith in God and determination, and the love of many friends and family members. Each day was an uncertainty; there are no “good days” when faced with such a devastating diagnosis. But Laura courageously fought on for the sake of her baby.

Just last week, Laura received the news that baby Capri’s heart had stopped beating in utero. After 26 hours of hard, induced labor, Laura delivered Capri on April 15. Though Capri never breathed outside the womb, her life touched many people, and Laura’s strength and bravery touched even more. Capri knew only love and the safety of Laura’s womb, and we can have some peace knowing that, but we all grieve that her life was far too short.

The grieving and pain are still quite raw, but Laura would love to have the opportunity to attend the Confidence Workshop. As a nurse, Laura has devoted her life to helping people, and now I would like us to help her. Beyond the tragedy of the past months, Laura is also deserving because, even apart from her recent circumstances, she is such an inspiration, a true example of a beautiful young woman who shines with faith, joy, courage, and love for others.

In order to continue on, we must have hope that the future will hold special and beautiful things for Laura and Brett, and the chance to focus on the future and how best to capture it with her nearly new DSLR would be a wonderful gift for Laura.

Please consider awarding Laura Jaime a spot in the Seattle workshop.

I do not know this lady personally but I follow her blog and story almost daily. She is the mommy of a beautiful baby girl who got her angel wings about 2 months ago. Kellie is such an inspiration to all of us mommies. I think she would be a great person for this event. I also think it would help her in her everyday struggles she goes thru. Please consider her!!!
    Her blog is http://kandjstaats.blogspot.com/?spref=fb

I nominate Kelli Staats!!! She is an amazing woman and mom who unfortunately lost her daughter a couple months ago. Her little princess was only 4months old. Kelli has been a true inspiration to many of my friends and also myself.

  217. Darcy says:

I want to nominate Kellie Staats. She is such an inspiration to so many. She has taught me to never take each day for granted and to take lots of pictures of my little one.

  218. Amie Ware says:

I have already nominated Kellie Staats up above but – I just have to say… I keep looking for the “like” button when I read these comments!! It is amazing how Maddie – only 4 months old, has made such a huge impact on woman all over the world! Its amazing, that while this mother struggles daily just to get out of bed, she still finds the time to smile and through all of this, she shares her struggles with us and tries to remind us of what the important things in life are.
I have a baby 1 week older than Maddie. She had croup when she was first born and needless to say, the first 2 – 3 months were difficult. I am so blessed to have found Kellies blog. After reading her blog, it helped me realize that I am blessed to have my precious baby here on earth with me. Even though she was screaming everynight at the top of her lungs, I get to hold her!! I get to tuck her in at night, I get to bounce around the bedroom with her over and over, until she falls asleep. I appreciate every second I have with her and I dont get upset anymore. I look foward to waking up with her in the middle of the night to feed her. I look foward to seeing her smile and slobber!! I cant imagine having that and then it being taken away.
Kellie has done her best to keep a smile on her face, every day, while inside her heart is aching. Not only does she have to face the fact that her baby went to Heaven and is no longer here, she is a teacher and gets reminded every day that her baby is gone by little 5 year olds. What a struggle this mom has faced.
She is a mother to a daughter in Heaven. No mother should have to go through what she is going through right now.
Photography is her outlet. She needs to win this spot! Kellie has helped so many women the past couple of months appreciate what they have in life while she grieves over what she use to have! She is the most unselfish person and one of the strongest women I know. She wakes up every morning with an emptiness in her heart. She lives everyday feeling like she is in the middle of a bad dream, just wanting to wake up and everything be back to the way it was.
My heart aches for her as do so many others. Giving her this spot will help her heal. It will help her have something to look foward to. Little Maddie has inspired her to do this and I feel that she is most deserving of this spot after all she has been through! Thanks Kellie – for all you do. Through you, Maddie is truely doing GREAT things!

  219. Amy says:

I nominate Kelli Staats!!! She is an amazingly strong woman having gone through what she has. I have never met this woman in my life….just connected to her through her blog. It says something if she can touch so many lives without ever meeting her at all. I can tell through the blog how much she has a passion for photography so please pick Kelli!!!! She deserves a break and so much more!!!

  220. Brian says:

  224. Caryn S says:

Although I have never met her, I am nominating Maddie’s Mom..AKA Kellie Staats-
February 2011 changed Kellie and her husband’s James life FOREVER as she learned while she was teaching Kindergarten that her beautiful baby girl passed away from SIDS. She and her husband have struggled EVERYDAY since this horrible tragedy. Madison was only 4 months old when she got her Angel Wings. Kellie blogs about her daughter, her own feelings on how she is coping or really existing day to day. Although I have never met Kellie or James , through their blog I feel like I know them and with each word she types I feel her sorrow and her joy- the joy that she was able to be Maddie’s Mom and Kellie has taught me to be a better mother and wife… If anyone deserves this Kellie does- Kellie Staats: a true inspiration to moms everywhere….

  225. Cassie Thompson says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats for your open seat! She has been through so much with losing her beautiful daughter Maddie to SIDS at the young age of 4 months. I have been following her blog and she and her angle daughter have touched the lives of so many people around the United States. She is truly an amazingly strong woman who has been through a horrible tragedy! She deserves this wonderful break! This would be an amazing opportunity for her! I don’t know her, and live hundreds of miles away from her but she has touched my life in a way that she probably doesn’t even realize! Photography is something she strongly wants to pursue!! SHE IS AN AMAZING WOMAN AND DESERVES THIS MORE THAN ANYTHING!! (Kellie- Maddie is smiling down on you and your family and will always be with you! <3)

  226. Kayla M says:

I would also like to nominate Kellie Staats. She is a real inspiring person. I read her blog EVERYDAY. I am at a loss for words about her story. I always tear up when I think about her sweet Maddie and how she was taken way too soon. This mommy needs this very badly. She absolutely deserves to go to this!! She loves photography more than anything(besides Maddie of course!) and would LOVE to be there! Even though I have never met her personally, I still think she is an amazing person and so very strong. She has taught me so much, including the fact that I should take more pictures of my children because everyday could be our(or their) last. Never take anything for granted. Hope Kellie gets the spot!!

  227. Courtney Campbell says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats : ) I think the other hundreds of posts explain why she is so deserving so I’ll leave this short, but sweet.

Ever since I started reading Kellie’s blog, I instantly became inspired by her and her husband, and their angel Madison. She is a very strong woman and has such a strong faith. Nobody else deserves this spot.

    Good luck Kellie!

I would like to nominate my daughter-in-law, Laura Jaime. As mentioned above, Laura went through a very difficult circumstance, and she did it gracefully. She is really an amazing young woman.

Laura also loves photos and has a true appreciation for photography. I know she would utilize the knowledge gained at the workshop to chronicle life’s events…in her life as well as others.

Your choice will not be lost on Laura Jaime…

This would be a wonderful opportunity for her and a great way for her to help heal through this spiritually, mentally and physically!

Love you lots and think and pray for you daily Kellie!

  232. Juli McDermott says:

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. Everyone else has already explained how amazing, strong, and inspiring she is. I only wish I could show such grace as she does in my daily life and I haven’t gone through half of the struggles she has. She could really use a lift!

  233. Andrea says:

There are so many stories of heart-break and trial, suffering and overcoming, need and desperate hope. As I read the nominations of the women who have been nominated, I am struck by the journey and courage of each one. So, I submit myself today in empathy and awe of each woman.

I saw this announcement with just hours to spare and still in the midst of the most difficult season of my life. Honestly, it’s very difficult for me to share, humbling in so many ways. Bringing the truth of my circumstances into the light leaves me feeling VERY vulnerable. Yet, I do this in a step of faith, knowing how Me Rah has inspired me both professionally and personally. Knowing that I had hoped to have this opportunity and suddenly, the opportunity has presented itself.

Almost four years ago, my family moved here from across the country. My husband, 4 year old son and I. We had enjoyed a beautiful summer here the year before and so, when a job opened up, we packed up all we owned, left all we knew and started a new life. It seemed full of possibilities and excitement, but I was soon to enter a season of great loss.

The moment we pulled in our new driveway, my phone rang. My father, whom I adored, who we had just left 2,000 miles away and who had been cleared of his cancer, was calling to say it had returned and the doctor wasn’t hopeful. His precious, last six months, I was too far away to walk with him. Still, we dived into our new life, as he wanted us to, and I spent many, many phone calls cherishing every moment I could with him. I was grateful to spend the last month by his side and blessed to be the last person with him before he died.

Just a few months later, my step-daughter and her two young sons arrived for short visit. Only once in our home, she shared that she had no home to return to. We talked through her options and offered to let her stay with us, hoping to help her get back on her feet and start a new life. It was a hard thing to take on immediately after such a loss, but worthy of the sacrifice, we believed. Her time with us wasn’t always easy. Suddenly, my son had two other little boys sharing their mommy’s attention. Three extra people in the house made for tight quarters. But it gave all of us a great opportunity to learn, from littlest child to oldest adult, about sharing, growing, forgiveness, boundaries. Still, when it was time for them to move into their own home, my step-daughter chose to distance herself and we didn’t hear from her again. Once before we had attempted to help her in a crisis and we were beginning to see a pattern that broke our hearts, both for her, her children and our relationship.

During her last few months with us, my husband received notice that he was being laid off. We had moved here so he could take a position with a large home-builder…just months before the mortgage industry crashed. While he was a rising star in the company, the company itself was suffering more and more. He was able to survive three lay-offs before finally, the company had no choice but to let him go as well.

I don’t know if it was the stress of all that we had experienced, the move, new job and then loss of job, stressess and losses, but just months later, my husband of 20 years left as well. My son, who had always been full of life and joy, was suddenly shattered and sullen and I wasn’t much better myself. Through prayer and friendship, God gave me the strength to overcome each day, to help my son through his grief and make his life as normal as possible.

Over the past 1 1/2, my husband and I have been separated and much of that time seeking counsel to see if the healing could come to restore our family. But then another devastating wave came. The women my husband had a short affair with announced she had had a child and it has proven to be his. It has shaken us to the core, because our son is adopted. We were never able to conceive and doctors told us it would be impossible for my husband to do so. It’s hard to explain the loss and pain I felt at this news. Years of painful infertility, I once thought healed, has been reopened and in a way that feels tragic and brutal. Some days it has been hard to get out of bed. The desire to hide from any more pain has been incredibly real and tempting.

The fire of the trials has brought all of the impurities to the surface in my heart and in our relationship. It is a disarming and humbling experience. I once had what felt like a normal, healthy, loving family and adventerous life. Things seemed predictable and it was a way of life I thought I could count on. Now, everything I have known has changed. I have moved away from everyone I love and who loves me, but have found friends here just for this season and my God who is with me wherever I go. My family isn’t looking like I had dreamed it would, but with everything in me, I know good is coming from this. I don’t see it fully yet, I don’t know what the future holds, but I have grown so much. I have the love of a beautiful son. I moment by moment choose to lay back and rest in the arms of the only One who can save me and moment by moment, day by day, I find victory, help, new strength and life, chosing to be forgive and live from as healthy a place as possible.

It isn’t easy though. Even financially, I make it one day at a time. My attempt to find work that fits my life right now has been a dead-end. But despite that, I took my tax return and took a HUGE leap of faith and bought a new camera. Years ago I had a wonderful film camera. My son’s first year home I KNOW I took more than 3,000 pictures just of him…and that was film! But with the cost being more than I could do, I settled for a little point and shoot that had me completely uninspired. I purchased my DSLR and the next day got on a plane to shoot my nephews graduation from Basic Training. I had said that I would never shoot weddings…but in May, my first real photo shoot is…you guessed it, a wedding! Having this outlet once again has been a breathe of life in a weary soul. I LOVE to capture life with my camera. I believe this is a new door for me, a place to inspire me and bless others and hopefully a way to provide a little extra income for my son and I.

Confidence. It’s a word that has taken on great meaning to me in this season. I realize now how little I used to have of it and how what I did have was shattered because of the loss and hurt. But, it’s also been a challenge and a promise to me. Rise up! Don’t be afraid! Take courage! You will walk in confidence! Believe it!

I don’t know what the future holds. But I do know this, I walk towards joy, life and confidence.

Thank you for considering me and all the worthy nominees!

I would like to nominate Kellie Staats. She is an truly inspirational woman. She is so strong and beautiful. She is an angel Mommy to a beautiful girl Maddie, I can see how much people she has touched. Her blog is beautiful, she deserves this.

  243. Courtney Kaffenberger says:

It is saturday morning and I realize that nominations are closed, however, I wanted to write in anyway as I have not had a chance to before now. This mommy has crossed so many hurdles..hurdles that just keep being thrown in front of her day after day…with no finish line in sight. That is what it must feel like once you lose your precious, innocent, healthy baby girl. Kellie Staats has become an inspiration to me, a mother of a now 6 month old daughter, and to so many other women and mothers across the internet. Kellie is not only a mother, but she is always a teacher. She gives her time, love, compassion to young children teaching them and preparing them for their educational journey. She wraps her arms around other mothers children daily but will never again be able to wrap her around around her own sweet Madison Paige. While at school one day, Kellie received a horrific phone call that her baby girl had stopped breathing. Once to the hospital they told her that she was gone. Maddie was gone. Words NO mother should ever have to hear. Pain no mother should ever have to feel. But why? Maddie was healthy. WHY? Maddie lost her life to SIDS. Kellie and James are living each day trying to make it over each and every hurdle without their baby girl. In doing so, Kellie has touched thousands of lives with her blog posts, her passion for photography, and her strength to each day, get out of bed, set forth and accomplish something crafty in Maddies name. Kellie has given me so much. She has taught me to believe in more than we can see. She has taught me to trust in angels. That after life, is not darkness. After life is bright, white, shinny and full of beautiful angels watching down upon their loved ones. I believe and am no longer scared of what one day will come. Kellie and Maddie have given me a gift that I never received in all of my years of going to church or living through loss of friends and loved ones. I have grown up in the Methodist church yet have always been afraid of death. I now sit and look at Maddie’s beautiful picture and no that though she may be gone from touch, she is not gone in spirit and sight. How comforting that must be to Kellie. Kellie’s love and passion for photography keeps her going. She wants to make her Maddie girl proud. I know Kellie would be honored to be the recipient of this seat in the conference. I wish the best for you, Kellie! You deserve every road paved to happiness!
