Heart Full of Thanks to Sony, Photo Plus Expo and All of YOU!

Me Ra Koh

Photo Plus Expo in NY this year was buzzing for three days with excitement and inspiration as 40K people came through!  It is such a honor to be a part of this event, especially when I get to share how awesome Sony has been and is!

I did nine talks (phew!) for the Sony booth, a special two hour workshop (warm thank you to all who attended), met a ton of new, wonderful friends,

the incredibly kind Joel from Adorama

reconnected with old, and shoot, even met blog followers and Nate Berkus fans in the airport!

I want to thank Sony, Photo Plus and all of YOU for making it such a special week!

On Thursday night, Sony and American Photo had an AMAZING party where Sony landed several awards for their cameras on American PHOTO magazine’s ’12 Tools That Changed the Rules’ Sony NEX-5,
NEX-VG10 & a55!  (Yeah Sony!)

The night was AMAZING!  There was a VIP Press Event, all six of us (the Sony Artisans of Imagery) had our work on exhibit, and 600 people packed the studio out!  Below is the amazing Brian Smith (Sony Artisan) with his sweet and beautiful wife, Fazia.  I spotted this pic on FB and had to grab it b/c I love them, and you can also see my work on display behind them!  LOL!   Check out Brian’s blog/portfolio when you get a chance.  He does amazing work of celebrities.  All the Artisans are just amazing artists and people.  When I get a hold of our annual photo as a group, I’ll post it up with their names and links!

But one of the last surprise moments of the week was when I walked up to my gate Saturday night to head home, and Jim and Katarina Garner were on the same flight with me!  Our flight had to land in Chicago b/c of plane issues, and the three of us kept each other awake and laughing till we got home in the wee hours of the morning.  And no, there is no photo of the three of us, between Katarina and I crying from exhaustion…a photo moment was not part of our time.  🙂  But what would we do with out friends to laugh with!

Much love to Sony, Photo Plus and all our friends who make this life amazingly rich every day!

I hope to see the rest of you there next year!

xoxo,

m

  8. What a delightful surprise to get an email from a women I met at Scott Kelby’s Tampa Worldwide Photowalk from the summer of 2009 asking me if I knew I was in a photo on your blog now in November 2010!!! I live in Philly, she in Florida and I met you walking in JFK airport as we left for our trip to Europe and the Middle East…now upon our return I am treated to seeing my picture with you on your blog. I am honored to have been included in your accounting of the excitement of your trip to NYC for Photo Plus. You are a wonderful mentor and truly a joy to meet in person… wishing you all the best as you continue to inspire! Thank you so much for this honor..what a close world we have as photographers! Best, Hillary

  9. I am Cheryl Williams. I have written 2 books. The first one, “Some Reasons Why Kids Gone By'” talks about TRUE stories about abortion. It is not a facts or figues, damnation type of thing. It helps guide people through the experience who may have had similar experiences. I have had 34 tv, radio and personal appearances. I would like to come or be featured in your publicity area. I am trying to get as much publicity as posible because I have found that 1 out of every 4 20 year olds has had an abortion or knows someone who has. Our children are at steak. Will you help me in this effort? Thanks for your consideration . Cherylwilliamsisa1@verizon.com/410-542-0156.
