THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW!

Help Us Get on Oprah–for a Whole Show! :)

Me Ra Koh

So we’re conspiring over here, and we want to know if you’ll help! 🙂

I am not exaggerating when I say that every week, I get 3 or more emails of wonderful stories from blog readers who at some point say, “you must be on Oprah.”

But how does one get on Oprah? Their website, I guess! Kari is our living proof that it worked! 🙂

So I’ve got a big favor to ask! Will you help us get on Oprah! What do I mean by this?

I have a vision for an Oprah show that is all about empowering women to use their cameras, start their own part time businesses, even going to women with children of different ages and teaching them how this big, black thing works, and also sharing my story of how I literally came from a hopeless place to where I am today. Wouldn’t this be the coolest Mother’s Day show!

A few fun stats to share with you. We started our photography business six years ago as a side hobby for me. In six years it grew to national fame with Brian and I traveling all over the world to shoot weddings at $15K plus. We have been featured on VH1 and recently asked to be icons for Sony’s new camera line. In November 07, our DVD series hit the market like a whirlwind (being the first to speak to women in plain language about how to use their cameras). And the most fun stat of all, our blog has grown in one year from having 200 unique visits a month to 10,000 UNIQUE visits a month! Isn’t that insanely wonderful! Thanks to all of you!

The best part is I get to be myself and share this with all of you. I get to be the woman who was released from a psych ward fifteen years ago (yep, my 15 yr. anniversary is coming up in May 08), who survived being date raped and losing a child, who fought through many storms. And these days I am pinching myself because my heart feels as if it’s a garden ready to explode with new life and color, despite the pain and loss.

“Me Ra Koh Photography” is fresh in the mind of the producers at Oprah after finishing up Kari’s show with them. So will you help us jump on this opportunity and visit this link on their website? By telling them about what you think of me and Brian, our blog, our DVDs, our story, etc. You can help us get on the show! I know they get thousands upon thousands of emails like this, but hey, what do we have to lose–especially in this special window of time we’re in!

One of the producers told me on the phone that this method really does work!

What do you say we overwhelm them with emails! 🙂 Here’s the link to put your submission in! Click Here!

Thanks so much!

fyi…When you fill out their submission, be sure to include these links too:

I wish you all the luck in the world, Me Ra. I hope so much you get to sit right in the very spot next to Oprah! Thank you for your email this morning — you know me so well, so your words were perfect. Thank you to all blog readers and your kind, kind words of encouragement and grace. And, yes, Nate is that cute and he is that nice and he is that good with kids. He is a man of dignity and respect and deep deep kindness. Our lives have been “marked” by this experience and it has given our family a new identity – not one born out of adversity but one of grace and renewal. Blessings back at all of you!

  13. Me Ra says:

How do I even attempt to thank you for all the submissions sent today? I never expected so many of you to respond by emailing me your submissions, and my heart is overwhelmed at what you’ve shared–so many of you I’ve never met, emailed with, or you seen on the blog, and yet your emails have filled our inbox today.

Thank you so much for all your support. One thing we’ve heard over and over again, is that you feel validated through our blog to be a parent and go for your dream as a photographer. I can’t tell you how much this means. You are so very valid in all your dreams. Only when we go for our dreams do we realize that they’re not something we conjured up, but often divine bits of heaven meant for us to unwrap.

    Love you all, Me Ra

MeRaKoh photography has changed the world, minds and lives of others. As one of the participants in MeRa’s workshop (and a new entrepeneur with a photography business), I learned not only what it was to be a woman, but I learned how to tackle my camera and my passion with enthusiasm. MeRa’s photos were in Nate’s Dream home show (on Feb 11th). MeRa is traveling the world talking to woman on how to learn to take photos and even start their own business…she’s amazing. Her blog is addicting and I look forward to seeing it my inbox daily. The positive comments she gets DAILY is inspiration that dreams come true. I would LOVE to see MeRa on your show, to be honored for her work, her accomplishments and to share her talent with the world. Please consider her (and her husband…can’t forget him…he’s the other half of the business and he’s GREAT!)Their websites are:

MeRa Koh is an incredible women with an incredible story. Her book title says it all, “Beauty Restored”. Her healing journey after facing date rape and the loss of a child is one of courage and hope. MeRa is now on a personal mission or “Revolution” as she would call it, to help, guide and encourage other women “out of the shadows and into the light”. MeRa with her talented husband Brian have built an amazing, highly recognized and successful photography business with in a short 6 year time frame. I truly believe they pinch themselves everyday. MeRa’s heart to share her knowledge and wisdom is just one of her many giftings to the world. MeRa has a beautiful way of viewing life and capturing it’s beauty not only through her words but through a lens. She has inspired me personally as I am launching my own photography business, with many thanks to MeRa and Brian’s workshops, DVD’s and Blog. I feel in my heart of hearts that the world needs to hear their story. I hope you seriously consider this amazing couple to be on The Oprah Show!
