SOAR!

What You’ve Done!

Me Ra Koh

The last 24 hrs of SOAR! are always the most thrilling!  As the clock gets closer to midnight, we can no longer keep up with approving videos because so many are being uploaded at once.  Prayers are being sent, technical issues come up from every direction, and yet, all the while there is a feeling of camaraderie that is well deserved.

SOAR! 2010 contestant, Delanae said it beautifully in a comment she left yesterday.  I took the liberty of making BOLD my favorite part;

“It was SOoooOOOooo exciting to see my personal video up… mixed with a good helping of “What have I done!!!” Then when I sat back and listened to the heart of all these amazing women in their videos, it became clear to me what I had done, I had joined an amazing group of amazing women who have a heart and desire for what I do. It’s really rare in this highly competitive world to have a friendly competition where you are pulling for others as much as yourself. It’s really kinda beautiful and blows me away…”

Ladies, SOAR! 2010 Contestants, do you realize what you’ve done?!  Do you realize how AMAZING you really are?!

You have stepped out of the darkness and identified yourself as a believer of your dreams, a believer of the impossible, a believer of courage and risk still holding power today.

You have stepped beyond the voices of doubt and fear–just long enough–to make a change in your actions.  Instead of acting in fear, you acted in fearlessness!  And the best part is that now the game has changed!!  You changed all the rules and limitations of your tomorrows when you acted in fearlessness and applied to SOAR!

Whether you are one of the three recipients or not, I know that this brave step will come back to you a thousand fold.  I believe that if we can sew the smallest seed of hope, it will indeed come back a thousand fold.  I’m so excited to see 2011 unfold for all of us ladies!!  It’s going to be a powerful year!!

I want to thank SmugMug and our SOAR! Support Team (Fastline Media, Jennifer, Lindsay and Linda, Genie and our new SOAR! Coordinator –who you will meet very soon!).  With the help of this amazing team, Brian and I were able to step away and spend most of yesterday cleaning my parent’s home for them.  (Thank YOU ALL so much!  Little did you know, you were not only helping SOAR! but allowing me to help my mom and dad as they continue my dad’s road to recovery.)

There are dozens and dozens and dozens of new SOAR! Video Entries to watch.  We are in the process of approving many.  We may need until next week to approve all of them.  In the meantime, to follow along, you can continue to meet our 2010 SOAR! Contestants by CLICKING HERE!

I leave you today with a big CONGRATS!  You did it ladies!  Buy yourself a bunch of tulips, pat yourself on the back, take a 15 minute walk and breathe in the fresh air of this new life you’ve stepped into.  You are amazing–AWE-MAZING!

As Julia Cameron so wisely says;

I have learned, as a rule of thumb, never to ask whether you can do something. Say, instead, that you are doing it. Then fasten your seat belt. The most remarkable things follow.
Take heart, enjoy the holidays and expect remarkable things to follow!

Me Ra, Thank you so much! I had gotten to the place where I told myself I believed my dream was worthy (enough to talk over the voices of self-doubt and press the send button), but I realized how much I truly DID believe it once I hit submit. Thank you for providing the context to make that experience of self-realization possible!

Wishing everyone good luck! Whoever gets the spots, I am eager to participate in the journey!

Happy holidays and happy new year!

  2. Kim says:

I love watching all of the videos on the website! I wish I could apply this year (having a baby due in February makes it not the best timing), but I will be following along with the journeys again. Good luck to all of the women who entered!!!

I’m so excited for you ladies. I remember the waiting last year. You did the hard and courageous part. Now relax – try to breathe – and enjoy your holidays. 2011 is going to be a year of growth and fun and lots of new friends to support you in your journey.

I’m so glad you were able to help your parents out yesterday MeRa. And look what you and your team have done – again.

Can’t wait to meet the 3 new recipients and all of the new ladies that will be following along this year!

    Dang! Quoted by Me Ra?

(Think Wayne’s World) “I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!” 🙂

I am having the most amazing free entertainment by watching these videos. Keep them coming please!

  6. Delanae says:

Rhonda, I haven’t seen your video yet. I sure hope you applied again this year because I have some serious money riding on you doing a double pike dismount! 😉

Me Ra, when I first stumbled upon this contest yesterday I watched your introduction and I thought you said your name was “Miracle.” I don’t think that was an accident. I am already inspired beyond words and this experience (no matter how it turns out) has already proved to be a miracle in my life. Thank you so so much!!

Good luck to all the contestants!!

  8. Holly says:

Wow! All these videos are amazing. I am SO happy to be part of this amazing group of women. I’ll be holding my breath for the next couple weeks. The anticipation is too much! Whatever the outcome, working on my application has been incredibly fulfilling and cathartic. I can’t wait to find out who the lucky 3 are!

  9. I noticed today (two days after my video submission) a change in the way I feel. Renewed and alert… All senses open wide…

Best of luck to each one of us. It’s going to be an amazing ride!

  10. ajira says:

I’m reminding myself to keep taking deep, conscious breaths. It’s the best way to stay present and enjoy my holidays with my family.

@Holly- You are so right about the anticipation! Last year we had some people even get physically sick while we were waiting. Oh, it was soooo stressful! And what a relief when we finally found out and how exciting to finally begin the journey! What a thrill!!

  11. Jessica Ho says:

Let’s do this!!! This is going to be a great year, with or without the scholarship I’ve commited to soaring this year and I’m so pumped! :]

  12. Rhonda says:

Ha ha Delanae. My body couldn’t have handled that. You should have seen the condition I was in for a whole month after last year’s stunt 🙂
