What is the secret to creating confidence that will last?  Big sigh.  Not an easy question.  It’s one thing to feel confident for a day, even a week, but to sustain it…  Confidence can feel so much more accessible when we are all together for a weekend, but what about when you are alone–day in and day out?  How do you create confidence that will carry you when you have to rally yourself?

I’m not sure if there is one secret, but I know I’ve had to develop strategies, vital strategies, that I do every day to help me sustain a daily confidence…especially on the days I’m not feeling it.  These strategies have been essential to our family and business.  Without confidence, you are vulnerable to approach the world with distorted glasses–negative glasses.  You respond different, you assume different, you hope different–even less…do you know what I mean?  You sometimes even find yourself sabotaging your own opportunities.  It’s amazing how some of the tests I’ve faced, tests that have rattled my confidence to the core, could have changed everything based on my reaction to the rattling.  And 2010 took testing to an all new level.

If you followed this blog last year, you know 2010 was a year of coming face to face with great trials, tribulations and yet also, incredible dream building and achieving.  There were so many times I wanted to talk more open and candid with you about the reality of building (or fighting) for your dreams.  In February this year at WPPI, I’m going to do just that.

I’m so excited to have an open conversation with you on the realities of dream building, as well as the trials you can expect (so you know you’re not crazy when they come), but most of all, the reward that is waiting for you.  And it may not be what you’d expect.  There are going to be tons of WPPI talks on the mechanics and business side of photography.  But this talk is under the Inspiration category because my aim is to empower you to not only hang in there but meet each new day with real strategies that keep you ahead of your fears and doubts.  Grab your morning coffee and meet me at 8am in Vegas!
