Celebrate Your Wakeland Senior – Rising Senior Experience at FIORIA in Frisco, Texas
Some students simply go through high school—but Natalie McCaghren has risen through it with unwavering faith, resilience, and an unstoppable spirit. As a Wakeland High School senior, Natalie has excelled in sports and music, and pushed through being bullied to discover her true strength.
For parents looking to truly honor their senior’s journey, there’s no better way than creating something lasting that reflects who they’ve become. If you’re wondering how to boldly celebrate your Wakeland senior, Natalie’s story will inspire you.
A Journey of Strength & Perseverance
Natalie is no stranger to hard work. She’s an accomplished softball player, state-ranked powerlifter (3rd in Texas!), and a talented singer who has competed at the state level. She’s also made history as the first-ever worship team intern at Create Church.
But Natalie’s journey hasn’t been easy.
For three years, she endured relentless bullying from some of her softball teammates. She was pushed around, laughed at, and called names—yet she still showed up every single day.
Through it all, Natalie never quit.
She is an inspiration to all young people experiencing bullying to not give up–to keep going for your dreams.
She held onto hope, reminding herself:
“I can’t control how others treat me, but I can control how I rise above it.”
And rise she did.
By the end of her junior year, she secured a spot on her dream college softball team at Wheaton College—a school where she will be celebrated, not just tolerated.
Her story is a reminder that when you truly celebrate your Wakeland senior, you honor not just their achievements but their unbreakable spirit.
What Her Portraits Remind Natalie Every. Single. Day.
“Being able to see my new portraits on the wall is like a breath of fresh air. It’s a reminder of who I am no matter what’s going on in my life and a reminder of who God created me to be. When I’m feeling powerless, I have a visual reminder that I am victorious. Each picture takes my joy, victory, and authority into consideration and creates visual representation of God’s artistry.”

What Natalie’s Family Sees in Her
From Her Mom, Lori
Natalie’s joy, strength, and wisdom stand out most to her mom.
“She lifted 395 pounds—AFTER blowing out her knee and spending a year in physical therapy,” Lori says. “She’s been strong-willed since birth, and I knew from the beginning it would serve her well.”
Natalie has also learned from her mom’s wisdom and compassion. When we asked her describe what her mom has shaped in her, she said “My self-worth—my mom understands her worth, and I’ve come to know mine as a woman of God. She’s merciful. I’m my dad’s daughter, but she’s instilled in me the gift of not fighting back.”
Through the long hours and late-night talks, Lori has always been there—sacrificing sleep, time, and energy to be the mother Natalie needed.
It’s this deep love and support that makes it even more meaningful to celebrate your Wakeland senior in a way that reflects their true journey. (Can I just add that I LOVE this portrait of Lori with her daughters?! You can feel that deep love from a mama’s heart to her girls.)
From Her Dad, Jody
Jody’s words? “SHE’S AMAZING!!!!!!” 🙂
“Her top three strengths are compassion, forgiveness, strong willed and being a good problem solver—how she responds to mean girls is AMAZING—that’s her compassion and forgiveness.”
“She’s got this way of seeing the bigger picture when most people wouldn’t.”
But as much as Natalie gives to others, her father wants her to know something, too:
“To give herself some grace because she’s so driven.”
That’s why taking time to celebrate your Wakeland senior matters. It’s a chance to remind them: they are enough, just as they are.
From Her Sister, Lauren
Lauren says Natalie is STRONG, CARING, DETERMINED with such a BRIGHT personality.
“With all the bullying in softball, she stuck through it and did her best every time she had the opportunity to play. She’s not going to shy down from a challenge. If it’s gonna happen, Natalie’s gonna make it happen. Perseverance is very much who she is.”
And her heart for others? That’s something Lauren deeply admires.
“She prays for people—even when she’s had a falling out with them,” Lauren shares. “She’s cried over other people’s pain. That’s just who she is.”
Natalie has always been a big dreamer, even from a young age.
“She once tried to convince our parents to buy a pregnant, blind horse because she thought it was a great deal—two for one!”
But beyond the humor, there’s a powerful truth: Natalie dreams big, and she makes things happen.
Honoring Her Journey Through Portraits
A high school senior’s journey is about more than just grades, sports, or achievements—it’s about who they’ve become.
Natalie’s family hopes her portraits will serve as a daily reminder that she is:
- Strong and Capable in the face of adversity
- Joyful, even when life is difficult
- Unstoppable, because she chooses faith over fear
When you celebrate your Wakeland senior, you give them a gift that lasts far beyond graduation.
You remind them of who they truly are—and who they are becoming.
And for Natalie McCaghren, that person is someone who will continue to rise.
