I love what we do! Aside from riding cruisers in Durango, we get take photos of our clients and fall in love all over again.
For example, when I’m done working on a slide show for a client, I feel all goose bumpy. The music is romantic, the couple’s connection is intimate and pure–I’m telling you, I love what we do and how it makes me feel.
When you work with a couple as kind and open as Katie and Fred, you can’t help but walk away a little more in love with life. These two have an incredible connection with each other, and it was a honor to do their engagement shoot in Colorado a couple weeks ago.
Here are a few of my favorites!
There was this wonderful open grass field. We had to take advantage of it!
Katie is so beautiful with the most petite features. Doesn’t she have this wonderful vintage look about her?
When we meet a couple for the first time, we have no idea what their connection is like and how safe they feel with one another. Since our clients are often out of state, the first time we meet face to face is at their engagement shoot or wedding day. It’s an adventure to see how we will capture all the dynamics these two share.
And when he grabs her, kisses her and makes her laugh with such spontaneity, you know they’ve got a wonderful future ahead.
One of my many goals during a shoot is to capture the couple in a variety of different moods. I know these two have found safety and love in their laughter as well as their quietness. Our hope is to show them that no matter what space they are in, no matter how loud or quiet they are, their relationship remains true and beautiful.
I think I’ve watched Katie and Fred’s Engagement Slideshow a dozen times. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I can’t wait for them and all of you to enjoy it!! Turn up your volume and click here to watch it!!

Really beautiful shots guys! I’m always amazed by how comfortable you get your clients to be. It’s like you’re not there. Like they don’t know they are being captured on film. Like you are a part of an elite spy network. ๐

seriously….i get to do sound at our church for weddings quite a bit, and i love doing it for the same reason. i get so see all the faces, expressions, excitement. i always remember my own wedding at some point during the ceremony…how i was feeling, what i was thinking, what sharon looked like (ahhh). it’s really amazing! i can imagine that you get a great big dose of that too! that’s awesome.

Wow, you are GOOD! Really, every image was beautiful – and I’ve always loved that song (ever since phenomenon!) – good choice. This makes me want to start doing weddings!
One of these photos made me think of a question I had (maybe anyone can answer?) How to you focus on a subject that is walking toward or away from you? I have my focus on the back button – but its frusterating when someone is on the movie like that and feel like i can’t keep up – anyone have some pointers? ๐

For taking shots of people walking toward or away from you, or kids in a swing, try putting your camera on AI SERVO mode. The camera will lock focus on the subject as they move forward or backward from you. It’s WONDERFUL!!! Just don’t forget to turn the mode off when your done. ๐
Beautiful!!!!!! I love the feeling you get when you watch your slide show with the music. I think the shots are great but the mood is tied up in a nice little package when you add the music.

How fun that you get to travel so much to shoot! The first one is the best, I like all the slightly different corrections done to it in the slide show. I think I like the vintage one best, but the B&W is quite nice as well.
