It’s Mid November, Meet Katie and Fred!

Me Ra Koh

Brian and I have the most wonderful clients. None of us knew we would need to wait for our Sony A900 images to go live until mid November. I felt so bad asking Katie and Fred to wait a couple weeks longer. But they totally trusted us and have been amazing clients and friends.

Katie and Fred, I am so excited for you to see your slideshow and images! Your wedding was one of the most memorable, beautiful and absolutely enchanting weddings.

Every detail in Katie and Fred’s wedding was magical.

From Katie’s super sweet bows

to the magical lighting and decor of the reception.

Cherry Hills Country Club was closed for the weekend due to construction. And their staff graciously let us take the golf carts out for photos. (They must go on record as one of the nicest staffs we have ever worked with!)

The autumn leaves and the lush rolling, green hills, with the incredible color and 24.6 mega pixel camera we used made this experience AMAZING!

While I shot the full frames of Katie and Fred dancing, Brian worked his magic with the 70-200mm lens. I love the way Katie adores Fred. She loves him with every part of her being, and to capture this dynamic is an incredible honor.

We have photographed countless ceremonies, but Brian and I witnessed something at Katie and Fred’s wedding that we have never seen before. Katie, one of the sweetest women

who wears her heart on her sleeve,

got super emotional during the ceremony.

And without thinking, Fred gave her a kiss in the middle of the sermon!

I don’t think either of them realized what they had just done, or the audience for that matter. And then everyone started laughing. It happened so fast, Brian and I were in shock and laughing ourselves! The pastor even said that he had never seen a couple skip to the end. It was the BEST!

There are so many favorite images from this wedding! I went crazy trying to narrow them down for their slideshow. The Director of Low Strung, from Yale University gave Katie permission to use their song for the wedding slideshow. Katie had emailed me and was worried the song might be to long for the slideshow, but she loved the music. (You’ll understand why when you hear it. This group is made up of twelve cellists!)

Katie, if anything, the song was to short! There are so many beautiful wedding images to choose from! You are going to freak!

But, if I had to pick one of my favorite moments, it was when Katie saw her dad for the first time after putting her wedding dress on. Her face just lit up. One of my other favorite moments is when Katie’s dad hugged her right after the ceremony. You have to watch the slideshow to see that one.

One of Brian’s favorite moments was when the sun started to set. I love, love, love this shot below that Brian captured.

Cheers to Katie and Fred! One of the sweetest couples we have ever had the pleasure of working with.

oh my gosh! The music gave me goosebumps! That was so touching….I had one of those permanent smiles on my face the whole time I was watching the slide show (you know the smile that you don’t realize you’re doing until what you’re watching is over?). Beautiful pictures. Oh, how I hope one day to be even half as good as you guys!

  2. Lauren says:

Stunning and beautiful! What an amazing couple and I especially loved the sunset pictures. Wedding pictures always make me cry!!!

    Congrats, Katie & Fred!

I agree with Dawn – I hope I can have even a fraction of your talent!

INCREDIBLE! I am just amazed right now, and nearly speechless. Hand down, the most incredible wedding photos ever. MeRa and Brian, so inspiring. You are both such talented individuals. I am ready to run out with my camera and just start snapping away. Thank you for being my inspiration over the past few months and for many years to come. It’s because of you two that I have made the leap to live out my dream and make wonderful memories last a lifetime. I hope to join you at one of your future conferences (if I can ever convince the hubby to let me spend the $) and learn so much more. Keep the magic coming!

  5. Sharon says:

I watched the slide show with my 7 year old daughter and she said something so cute!

“That bride is so super pretty! She looks so pretty and so friendly and nice.” 🙂

Then she said something that makes me nervous,

“I want my wedding to be just like hers”

  6. Stephanie says:

I loved the music! It was such a suprise. The last thing I expected to hear was a classic rock song. It was a perfect compliment to your amazing photos!

  7. Allison G. says:

So amazing! Some of these brought tears to my eyes and like Dawn said above, I had perma-smile the rest of the time!

Me Ra and Brian, thanks so much for continuing to inspire us. I find it amazing that you have never met many of us and yet, have had such a profound impact on our lives. I’m so grateful for your willingness to share your gifts.

And to the lovely couple….you look so happy and in love! Congratulations on a beautiful wedding!

    Mera
You have got to be good when a complete stranger tears up over someone else’s wedding photos! The music was a beautiful touch to the magnificently edited images. I was able to feel the love between this couple and the admiration that Katie has for her Dad. Too precious!
    Thank you for sharing.

  9. Denise says:

  12. Me Ra Koh says:

You are all so wonderful to post these comments! I woke up this morning wth Brian’s horrible head cold, and I just got on here to see what all of you thought. Wow, you lifted my spirits so much. Thank you for all your feedback. Isn’t the dynamic between Katie and her dad something you wish for your own daughters and husbands. It was such a honor to document their family in motion, especially they connection between Katie and Fred.

Back to bed to get rested up and ready for our wonderful workshop with the Chicago ladies!

  13. Gretchen says:

Oh no …a cold?? Me Ra-stay in bed until Friday morning!

  14. Colleen says:

Mera, that was incredible…absolutely gorgeous…I love your “eye” for telling the story! May I ask, how are you able to NOT keep your camera on “auto” but keep the lighting just right? I find that depending on where i stand or if someone moves in on me…I’m spending so much time adjusting the aperature/shutter speed that I’ll miss a good shot…perhaps you have several cameras set for specific shots? this happens especially outside with shadows, clouds or whatever…just wondering…thanks so much! Just a mom taking pics of her girls (I’m a friend of yours on facebook…you can see lots of my pics there)

  15. Julie Watts says:

Those images are SO elegant and emotional you guys! But seriously, being so in tune and attached emotionally to each other during their ceremony that they intuitively just kissed right in the middle?!?! That’s the most ROMANTIC thing EVER!!

  16. jennifer says:

Wow, just utterly the most stunning in every single way! Clarity, lighting, Katie, Fred, mega-pixels, music, the love and the tale – all of it just blows the lid off! such a privilege to be able to see it all and feel a part of it. Thank you so so much!

  29. you were right about those shots of dad, made me teary eyed! i have loved seeing all of the photos of this couple, they really have a special magic and the bride is just stunning. i really love the pillowy milkiness to that top shot. another favorite from the slideshow is when they are at the altar and they are being blessed and the bride has her eyes closed, you can really feel her being there in the moment.
congrats on capturing another wedding beautifully and really telling the story!

  30. That music is so powerful – love how it complements the photos. Really really stunning images – what an expressive beautiful bride!
