12. Ambient Light

This is one of my favorite wedding cake photos when Brian and I used to shoot weddings.  It was a beautiful wedding in the Hamptons.  I wanted to capture the romance of the setting, the beautiful ambient lighting.  I put my camera on a tripod, off centered the cake, and left the shutter for 5 seconds.  Everyone that was moving became blurred from the shutter staying open so long.  Perfect!  I wanted this whimsical, magical light feel.  No flash used in this.  All ambient lighting.
