Shelley from California transformed an empty space under her stairwell with her montage!

Look at what Jeanelle from Mississippi did with molding!

Laura from Florida created a montage with the beach being her theme.  I love how their are candid moments as well as the surfboard and sailboat!

Jillian from California put a framed chalkboard right in between all of her photos.  I just loved it!  For tips on how to create your own custom chalkboard, check out Nate Berkus’s recent blog post!

Melissa from Indiana created a wall montage that mixed her favorite photos with a favorite painting!

Christina from New Jersey sent her wall montage idea with this wonderful, inspiring note;  with money being tight i haven’t gone out to get frames but wanted to hang the pictures i’ve taken of my girls.  so i used yarn to string across the wall.. then clips to hang the pictures on.

Kelli from Illinos got creative with IKEA’s magnetic frames.  “I bought the frames at IKEA (love) and they are magnetic in that the fronts slide right off..pop the photo in and there you have it! I have this in my kitchen and we love it! I can keep adding as I get photos and if I want to change out the photos all I have to do is pull off the front panel and slip another photo in..easy easy!!

Cathy Mores from Kansas, gives a beautiful, classic idea of having one canvas be dedicated to the whole family, one for the kids all together, and one of each individual child.

Kelly Nelson from Virginia does a similar arrangement with her canvases, except she has one with the kids and just mom and another with the kids and just dad.  Love it!

Katie Schoepflin from CA, shows off her beautiful photography by making a wall montage with various frames for a local boutique desert shop!

Kim from Georgia suspends all her frames with bows.  I love sweet and simple this idea is.

Tonya Todd from Washington mix matched frames too but also added the word “family” on top!

Catina from Virgina bought her frames from a local craft store.  I love how cozy this space looks with the piano!

A big SHOUT OUT to these wonderful ladies and FB followers!  Thanks for be so excited to share your home and creative ideas with us!

Feel free to post up any questions for these ladies regarding their wall montage.  I have a feeling they may be available to respond in the today’s comments!  🙂

So excited to see my photo wall up here too! I also REALLY love the chalk board idea. I’m always searching for the perfect “quote” to go with my photo groupings… this idea would make it so much easier – just WRITE the perfect quote! And change it up if a better one comes along. So cool!

  15. Catina says:

Janine – I can’t remember exactly where I bought the frames as it’s been a couple years… but I’m thinking it was probably Walmart, Michaels Craft Store and Target (I think maybe Target for the collages and Walmart for the 8 x 10s but I might have gotten one of the collage frames at either Walmart or Michaels). That’s where I’ve gotten a lot of frames… The other places I typically have found frames locally are Sears, AC Moore (craft store) and Kohls.

  16. Janine says:

Thanks! Im going to have to check that out Im sick of my black ones its time for a change .

  17. Me Ra says:

  18. Delanae says:

Okay I have to share this. I know this blog was over a week ago… but to me there is a lesson in what happened after I decided to take action on this blog post.

Specifically I wanted to make the chalkboard. I have been so busy with life and trying to learn so many new things that taking time to make a framed chalkboard was stretching a little bit for me. Still, I really wanted it for my new studio sign by the front door. I wanted a “buy appointment only” sign and being that I am a children’s photographer I felt a framed chalkboard would be perfect. However, finding a chalkboard at all was proving to be quite a challenge.

Okay, deep breath. I decided to follow the instructions on the Nate Berkus blog link above and I went to the store and bought all that I needed… but I still didn’t want to take the time to make it. As I was leaving Michaels I noticed there was a “craft mall” across the road and so I thought, “Super, maybe they will have one.” So I went in and asked and yes, the owner said she did have one but it was at home and she would bring it tomorrow and I could have it for $15.99. WOW! SOLD!

So, being that I was in a hurry I kept all my supplies from Michael’s Craft Store and I would return it the next day when I went to pick up the pre-made framed chalkboard.

The next day I got to the craft mall to pick up the framed chalkboard and when the lady pulled this BEAUTIFUL framed chalkboard out from behind the counter it had written on it, “Be still and know that I am God.” And Goosebumps flew all over my body. No joke.

So, right then and there I knew that I wasn’t going to erase that message from God… and I went home with the pre-made framed chalkboard and all my supplies I needed to make my own… and I think $15.99 is a pretty inexpensive price to pay for a reminder from the almighty, don’t you? 🙂

  19. […] favorite side of the kitchen today includes a collage with homemade framed chalkboard that I swiped from a super creative lady here and THE  red bicycle that is a vinyl decal (don’t look too closely, it’s got a flat […]
