[tps_title]Back Up Your Images[/tps_title]
There are a lot of applications, tools and services for backing up digital assets, but if you’re like me you have tens or hundreds of thousands of photos. Here is my easiest and most useful backup solution;
Once all my images are organized, I plug in a new external hard drive and then drag and drop my “IMAGES” folder (with literally all of my images from several years) to the new hard drive.
Now when I clear my cards to their new folders, it’s easy to copy these new folders to my external backup drive. And it becomes super easy to maintain. SUSTAINABILITY IS KEY! I actually keep all our images on external drives, and I have more than two backups of all of the images.
That’s how I sleep easy at night! 🙂
Any scholarships for organizing photos??
I recently survived a power surge that fried my iMac but I have back-ups and insurance so new computer arrives this week with new externals– I do not have
Lightroom yet but will buy it if I can learn to use it properly. New iMac is huge and I have a chance to re-organize everything….just don’t have funds because we retired and live on modest pension.
