I LOVE baby photos! If you feel the same way, here’s Five Photography Tips for Babies!
Meet little Avery. Isn’t she a doll!
Avery and her mom, Andrea, were models for one of our CONFIDENCE Workshop. When they showed up for the live shoot segment, the room filled with magic as we all oohed and aaah’d over this sweet thing.
Here’s some fun little newborn shooting tips. For more, check out some older posts and our award winning video tutorials for moms!
Photo Tip 1: I love to have someone shake car keys or a rattle to the upper right of me when I’m photographing a baby. It helps me capture this heavenly look in their eyes.
Photo Tip 2: Don’t stress about having backdrops. If you’re shooting at a low enough aperture, the carpet may be a great background for you (depending on it’s color :)). This image was shot at a F. 2.8. For learning more about aperture, click here!
Feet…are the BEST!
Photo Tip 3: Have the mom wear a black t-shirt or tank top so that you have a black background when photographing the baby.
Photo Tip 4: Have your camera on continuous shutter so you can take a few photos at once. This way you won’t miss any of those great expressions. 🙂
And last but not ever least, Photo Tip 5: Even though the photo shoot is about baby, don’t forget to blur the baby and capture one of beautiful mom and all her joy. This is her time too, and she’s done so much to get to this point.
A big hug to Avery and her family!
