The Magic of First Snow

Me Ra Koh

The first snow fell from the sky like big cotton balls.  Pascaline was still sleeping, but Blaze asked if he could join me on my morning walk.  It was pure magic outside. We set out to go exploring.

First snow is magical. I love how Me Ra shares creative ideas to accentuate the magic in your photos!

All a child needs is a little ice and evidence of snow to feel the magic of a White Christmas.

We listened to the quiet, the crunch-crunch underneath our feet.  We held hands tight as we braved icy patches.  And we blew clouds of cold breath into the air.

I couldn’t resist leaving the camera behind.  But seriously, can you believe this photo is straight out of the camera?  Here’s a fun photo tip for you!  I’ve been playing around with some of the new in-camera settings that SONY is coming out with, and I’m going crazy! There are Creative Style options in the camera where you can have extreme blur when shooting the photo, vivid color, or pure black and white.  ZERO editing and then you send it to your phone with the camera’s built in wi-fi or directly upload online.  Done!

New ways to create get me so excited!  But for now, I’m going dark on the blog until after Christmas Day.  Going to sink in to the holidays and drink in this special time with family.

Before New Year’s Eve arrives, I’ll be back with a special post or two about our preparations for Egypt.  We are gearing up to take the kids for three weeks of adventure after the holidays.  This trip is part of making the new year all that it can be for our family, our dreams, the culture we’ve created within our family!  Much to share!  But until then I wish you all the merriest Christmas!  And may you all have a magical first snow fall!
