Even though it was over a week ago, I still have to recap on PartnerCon in Chicago! It was an AMAZING trip!

I arrived Monday evening and went to dinner with the guys from Shoot Dot Edit. If you haven’t heard of this business (and you are a photographer), you NEED to check them out! Their website alone is FANTASTIC! They have amazing photographers and editors on their team and are providing a service to the industry that is hard to pass up.

My speaking session on Tuesday went really well! One of the women that I talked to afterward flew from Puerto Rico and told me how she’s been following our site and blog. She’s a mom, beautiful wife and photographer trying to find ways to juggle it all. It was incredible to meet her, hear about her business and especially make a new friend. (my kids LOVED her card and the images, so of course now I can’t find it and can’t remember her name! if this is you in the photo below let me know! :))

After the session I did an interview for Real Women Scrap TV. It’s great video podcast with lots of fun stuff for women scrapbookers. Check it out!

Tuesday night was the icing on the cake. I was invited to a small dinner with Jeff Jochum (the VP at Pictage), Denis Reggie, Mike Colon, and Robert Evans, and Sara France. Our dinner unfolded into this wonderful three hour conversation of how to improve our businesses, be an encouragement to others, be leaders and yet know our limits. The evening was priceless. The company was powerful and inspiring.

Four years ago, I was in one of Denis’s workshops, and he changed our whole business. There is no way Brian and I would be where we are without having gone to Denis’s workshop.

Photography conferences are an amazing way to get yourself into the industry and grow your business. WPPI is every year in Vegas and Pictage holds two Partner Conferences. Investing money in attending one of these is one of the wisest investments you can make in your business!
