A Look at Week 4 Results

Me Ra Koh

Last night, I finished the last of the thirty critiques for our June online class “How to Capture Magical Light”.  Their last assignment was tough and specific with taking the techniques they learned over the last four weeks and creating a story with those techniques that purposely used darkness to illuminate the light that much more.  I’m going to share a handful of their photos this week and next because these ladies are so inspiring!  Many of them said how this assignment pushed them out of their comfort zone, yet they all went for it.  Their images have my creative juices going, and I’m sure they will get yours going too!

This is a photo that Sarah uploaded from Week 1’s assignment.  I want you to see where Sarah started.  Darling little boy, great composition, but I pushed Sarah forward with taking control of her light even more.

Look at how she is taking control of light in Week 4!  Amazing!

His blue eyes seem to look through you.  And the lighting is magical!  Sarah, I’m a big fan!

Gotta show you two more of Sarah’s from her last assignment because she goes a totally different direction with taking control of light.

Aren’t the shadows and light simply inspiring!!!  I love his little bare feet!  And I love that she captured him in his own world as he played and used the shadows to accentuate him being in his own world.  Simply beautiful.

One more.  This is stunning.  There is such a classic, old world feel to it that is rich in innocence and depth.

I’m so proud of each one of these ladies!  Stay tuned for more results of their final photo assignments!

(Sarah, so proud and honored to watch you unfold in your creativity and confidence.  These photos…amazing.  Truly.)

xo,

m
