Workshops

Atlanta Workshop is Happening with Lots of Surprises!!

Me Ra Koh

Wow, in 24 hours, 46 women said they wanted a workshop in Atlanta this January!

When I started seeing the stats, I ran with it! And wait till you hear what we’ve already set up in the last 12 hours!

Here are some goodies!

1. Brian and I will be teaching the workshop at the studio of the amazing LaCour team! The LaCour team (Rachel, Andrew and Mark) are good friends, and this last year they were voted as one of the Top Ten Wedding Photographers in the WORLD! Yep, amazing stuff! πŸ˜‰

2. Sooooo, since the workshop will be at their very own studio, they are also going to hang out a bit! Is that cool or what! When we do the live model shoots with moms and babies, they will be around to help you hands on!

3. And on top of this, there is one more thing. Bad news first, we will not be able to fit in a Friday night Meet and Greet, BUT, here is the good news! On Saturday night we will all go out to dinner, and I’ve asked the LaCour team to share a little on their artistic approach to photography during the dinner. πŸ™‚ Don’t be scared away b/c they are wedding photographers. Their eye and creative spirit is so rich. I can’t wait for you to meet them and be inspired not only by us but them as well!

4. Aside from these wonderful sprinklings of LaCour magic, we will have an incredible weekend together doing our Refuse to Say Cheese Workshop! And as you know from our workshop’s reputation, all kinds of stuff is in store!

The dates for the Atlanta, January 09 Workshop are Saturday and Sunday, January 17th-18th!

Okay, we have 46 women and only 20 spots!

Registration will open on the Refuse to Say Cheese site, Monday morning at 6am! The website will share all the details for hotel options, airport to fly into, etc. Once you are registered we will email even more specifics.

And yes, we will have the Early Bird Registration of $799 start Monday and end Friday.

See you in Atlanta!

-photo of Atlanta taken by the LaCours! Rumor is that Andrew used wire cutters to get this shot, we’ll have to ask him about this for sure in January!

If you’d like to get to know the LaCours a little more before the workshop, you can check out their blog here!

p.s. Brian and I were also excited to see how high the numbers were for having a workshop in Dallas or Scottsdale. I’m thinking on it and looking at the schedule. thinking, thinking…thinking…

p.s.s. The Justice League family photo coming soon! πŸ™‚ Happy Halloween!

    Me Ra and Brian,

This may seem like a silly question, but do you need to be a professional or have a photography business to attend your workshops?

I am new to photography and loving it, but I’m not holding out hope I’ll ever be good enough to have people pay me to take pictures. πŸ˜‰ My main goal is getting good shots of my famiy (right up your alley right?!), and your workshops sound FUN.

    Thanks!

  2. lora says:

That is sooooooooo very exciting! πŸ™‚

  3. Me Ra, It’s going to be awesome having you here in Atlanta! Get ready, ’cause while you’re here, I’m going to take you to Bootcamp and/or Crossfit with me!!

  4. Me Ra Koh says:

OMG Mark!! I was hoping you’d let me tag along one morning! I’m so excited! Unlike Brian, I love the feeling of wanting to throw up after a good session. πŸ™‚ Know how to help with that? πŸ˜‰
I’ll have to tell my trainer we need to take it up a notch so I’m ready!! Will Andrew come too? πŸ™‚ Brian and I can’t WAIT to see you guys and catch up. It’s Christmas come early!

And Amanda, great question. This is a workshop you would love. I would say that 1/4 of the women are total beginners, some don’t even have cameras. Another 1/4 are intermediate, another 1/4 are booking clients, another 1/4 are beginner and have no desire to ever go pro. But the common thread that brings all these beautiful women together is the desire to be in a safe place where they can learn the technical side to photography, be inspired, laugh, cry, and just have a blast nurturing their creative soul! So come on! Meet us in Atlanta girl!!
