If you ever find yourself next to a hungry giraffe…
These are five tips to feeding a giraffe that I learned hands-on! It was an AWE-some experience at the San Diego Safari Zoo Park!
1. Use ZooGoo (hand sanitizer) on your hands.
2. Have the single leaf you are feeding in one hand.
3. Hide the rest of your leaves.
4. Never underestimate how far their “reach” can be.
5. Be prepared for giraffe drool! (which sort of brings me back to using serious ZooGoo)
Yep! That’s mean trying to dodge the giraffe drool coming down. You thought dog drool was bad…LOL!
One of my favorite people. Janice at 5MinutesforMom finds a kindred spirit.
Why am I feeding giraffes?
One, I can now cross it off my bucket list. And I had the privilege of hanging out with SONY’s VIP Mommy Bloggers last week. After I was done speaking we headed to the San Diego Zoo Safari, and then we ended the evening with a wonderful dinner at a nearby vineyard. I LOVE being invited to speak to mommy bloggers because after my session is done, I get to pick their brains and soak in all their amazing wisdom!
I met several of these women almost five years ago when I did a speaking event for SONY. These women are inspiring, hard working, amazing multi-taskers, visionaries, and I’m so honored to call many of them friends.
