We are finishing up six insane weeks of travel, and I am so excited to sink into the holidays with family! While I was working out this morning, I saw one of my favorite singers on The View, 10 year old, Jackie Evancho.
Some of you know her from the show America’s Got Talent.
She has the voice of an angel. And guess what? She has a newly released holiday album! It’s called O Holy Night.
As she sang one of the songs this morning, I had to sit down because the performance brought tears to my eyes. The words, her voice, it brought such deep peace to my heart.
What does this have to do with photography? Everything. As artists, we must always keep our hearts open to gifts that will feed our creative spirit, refresh us, rejuvenate us, our simply bring comfort and rest. This morning I have a 10 year old to thank for that. (Jackie, thank you for sharing your gift with the world. What a gift you are.)

here’s another little nugget….it’s ok in life to leave little marks and scratches on things. it’s how the generation behind us knows what we loved. like the worn frets on a well used guitar…my kids will know…hey, dad loved those songs in G.
Her talent is certainly an amazing gift! On the national stage, she is one of the most poised little girls that I have ever seen. I saw her dad’s interview and he said that when she is at home, she acts like a normal 10 year old. She is treated same as his other children. I think she and her parents have their heads screwed on straight. Thank goodness.
Wow! That is amazing. It brought tears to my eyes,too. Love good, wholesome, sweet, new, innocent talent like that! It does do our hearts good!!

I can’t tell you how many times i have listened to her sing but every time tears come to my eyes. what a fantastic voice, I have no ideawhy she came in second.I voted as many times as I could. Thank you Jackie.
