22 Women, 1 Lost Suitcase and a Missed Flight equals…

Me Ra Koh

…an intense-intense four days in New Jersey and New York.

Our suitcase with all, and I mean ALL, our workshop materials was lost.  But the NY CONFIDENCE women were so great—they just rolled with it.  And we had a POWERFUL weekend together.

After the workshop ended, we started Monday morning with a baby shoot that lasted four hours!  And then we headed into back to back meetings that lasted right up until our flights yesterday.  At the end of the day, Brian missed his flight home.  :(

It’s 3am as I write this post.  I just got home.  I’m exhausted.  But can I just say that every second of travel stress we encountered was worth it.  We met 22 beautiful women who changed us for the better.

Tomorrow’s post will be meatier—promise.  Sorry, no photo for today—to tired.  Just wanted to check in and say “We’re alive.”  ;)  Can’t wait to snuggle with my babies and have my hubby back.

xoxo,

m

p.s.  Even though my post is short, the SOAR! ladies are posting AWESOME-AWESOME things on the SOAR! blog today!  Check it out b/c there is a ton of inspiration happening every day on the SOAR! blog!  (love you ladies!)

awwwww Me Ra we had a great time! You and Brian did a fantastic job without the materials! Hopefully this showed that you can do it without your outline and have more confidence in yourself. I had a great therapy session this weekend and learned so much about my camera and of myself. I hope Brian made it safely and I cannot wait for you to see all of our pictures!

  2. Hi Me Ra! Thank you to both you and Brian for an incredible workshop weekend. Everyone had such a positive attitude. The things we learned, and the group sharing was amazing, I feel like this weekend was immeasurable. I hope you find your luggage and that your trip back to the west coast is easy-peasy! I can’t wait to see everyone’s shots from the family shoots and some of us have already connected on Facebook, what an awesome weekend! So many inspirational women! 🙂

    Hi Me Ra!

What an amazing weekend with some pretty incredible women! (and Brian too!) I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to move forward in my journey as a photographer. The relationships that were formed and the things I learned were unforgetable and I will take with me so much from those two days in Jersey City!

You can bet on seeing me at a future workshop for sure…and anytime you are in Massachusetts please be in touch!!

Thank you Me Ra and Brian!!

Just want to say “ditto” to what everyone else said. Despite the lost materials- the class was such a phenomenal experience. We must have all said it 10000 times, but it truly changed a lot my personal perspectives on things and could not have come at a better time for me. And- once I got home- and had a chance to see all my pics shot in manual on Sunday I was even more excited. I honestly couldn’t even believe some of the pics were pics I had taken. 🙂

The strangest part is how much I miss people who I only met for 48 hours!

Thank you Me Ra and Brian for your smiles and encouragement. I must say, only women could’ve pulled off such a workshop (Brian, just accept it, you’re one of the girls). I came home with the most unexpected gift – cheerfulness, lightness of spirit. I’m not worried about my plans, or my ability. Heck, my pictures may be so so, but I just got my camera and I was in manual the whole weekend. Holy crap! No wonder I’m cheerful. The rest of the stuff will come, but for now I will cherish the feeling of hope and the friendships I made. How often does one get lost for a weekend and meet over 20 amazing people. Priceless gift and I thank you, I only hope I can become as good as the rest of the NY crew. Love you all 🙂

Oh MeRa, seriously? Poor Brian, you guys must be wiped.

Ditto to the other ladies, this weekend was beyond powerful, it was really a life changing weekend for all of us. I drove home in tears because I was just so sad it was all over. I miss everyone something terrible. If only we could have had one more day…

I came into the weekend a Mom with a camera, I left an Artist. Talk about life-altering.

I hope you get lots of rest and some serious snuggle time. Much love to everyone…

I guess this proves that it isn’t the do-dads, what nots, and “thingys” that make a workshop… it is the spirit in the hearts of those who come. You ladies (you too Brian) have absolutely no idea how you have touched my heart. We never needed a bunch of “stuff”.

I have a tendency to be wordy but I think I’ll keep this simple. Everyone who was there knows the rest…

    Love Y’all!!

Wow!! Its like a 3 days after-the-workshop reunion on this blog post!!!!

Me Ra, I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for so many people, and especially me!

Hug your kid-o-s for me, and thank them for sharing one set of amazing parents with 22 beautiful women. Your kids hearts are as big as yours!

  9. Me Ra Koh says:

Wow ladies! Thank you so much for all these comments! It was a powerful weekend…I can’t stop thinking about it all. But that only happens if you come with open hearts, and seriously, you came with more than open hearts. You came with PASSION to beat the odds of whatever voices you’ve had all your life. And you did it!! I love you all. We need to do a serious reunion of some kind. Thank goodness for the forum and FB. I love that I can see your faces and photos and watch you bloom more and more. Loving you all!
