A Sweet and Unexpected Welcome Home!

Me Ra Koh

Brian and I came home last night to the sweetest presentation of “Welcome Home” surprises on our bed. I had to share. It’s to cute not too. We have the BEST kids in the world!

Pascaline transcribed for her and Blaze. They took the word Mother and Father and made their own poems. Pascaline said M stood for Meow because “I’m really sweet.” πŸ™‚ Do all moms tear up when their kids call you their H for Hero?

Blaze cut out pictures from magazines that reminded him of me. He set each clipping in a specific place on the bed. The display was so sweet, I didn’t want to climb into bed.

I love all the things they thought of for Father. E for Energy. Hmmmm, can the Minneapolis women and all other workshop attendees confirm that? Brian and Energy…:)

I was telling the Minneapolis women this weekend how the feeling of guilt almost ruined everything for me. I used to feel guilty for every single thing. If the business was growing, I felt like a bad mom. If the kids were doing great, I felt like I was neglecting the business. No matter what, I felt like I couldn’t win. My business coach started to work through the guilt issues with me, and these last two years have been amazing. I would even say 98% Guilt Free. And even though crying on the kitchen floor still happens, it’s not often about guilt.

What amazes me is that when Brian and I feel right and good about our choices and what we’re doing, the kids are good. It’s when we don’t feel right that the kids pick up on the stress. Otherwise, if mom and dad are good, they are good. Or even better, Jeff Jochum used to tell me, “If mom is happy, everyone is happy. If dad is unhappy, who cares.” πŸ™‚

To come home to such gifts of love, I could hug these two little ones forever and not let go. But then Blaze tells me that he’s getting to hot and needs some space to breathe.

Photos from the Minneapolis Workshop coming tomorrow!

This is so cute! One question though… why did Brian get Red for the R in Father?

  2. CA says:

Ha! That is a good question. You get Really Pretty and Brian gets Red? I love it, though! Too cute and really a great testimony to the fact that you two are doing a really remarkable (hey there is an R for Brian) job at running a successful business and being top notch parents at the same time.

  3. Christina says:

Awwww, how awesomely precious, they are sweet kids. Yes, I think all mothers tear up being called hero, even “meow” for that matter πŸ™‚

  4. Amanda says:

OMGoodness that is too precious! I LOVE it…and I love oatmeal for breakfast….and of course everything else they wrote. I love getting to see inside the heart and minds of children…they are such a miracle on so many levels. Your children are so blessed to have you and Brian and it is so easy to see they know this already just as much as the two of you are blessed with them. I see your family all as angels…brought to all of us to help us remember what truly matters in life. As you know from this weekend guilt is my big problem right now as well….and to hear your words and to hear that I am not the only one guilt took so much control over at some point…helped remove that brick from my shoulders. I do feel so relieved among so many other emotions and feelings as well…..I am still processing and sitting in this amazing cloud of wonder and awe. I LOVE Brian’s energy and I LOVE your caring and genuine heart… Thank you for all the laughs too! xoxoxo

  5. Amanda says:

OH my goodness…just WOW! That has to be one of the most beautiful testimonies to parental love and nurturing I have ever seen. =)

Umm…I thought Brian seemed a little tired this weekend. HAHAHAHA! πŸ˜‰ Needed a little more skip in his step for sure. *hoping the sarcasm is shining through here*

  6. That is too cute! Thank you so much for sharing. Makes me look forward to having children of my own one day. By the way, your bedroom is so cute! And so clean!

  7. Kari says:

Ah man… those darn kids can really get ya, huh? What an amazing gift they gave you. It is such a moment-o-grace when we see ourselves through the eyes of our children….It makes me think: I wonder what God must feel like when we see him as our Father???

    Have a great day!

    xxoo

  8. Genie says:

Who would ever want to take that down? I’d go out and buy a new bed, sleep on the floor with candles all around. They’re such great, beautiful children – and a beautiful reflection of the love they’re growing up in.

I feel so privileged to get to hang out with them under the piano bench. Really. Good thing I fit. πŸ™‚

Sounds like Minneapolis was amazing! You gals were rockin’ it before it all happened! Can’t wait to see more of what happened – always knew that cape was back there!

  9. Melanie says:

You both have great, wonderful children and I’m so happy I was able to meet them at the workshop. (They’re like Internet superstars!) And the photos – they feel sweet and homey. Such a warm feeling to start the day!

  10. Julie Watts says:

It would be so fascinating to see what my kids cut out of magazines that reminded them of me and their dad!! What a beautiful expression they created for you…wow

  13. Lynda says:

Thanks for sharing about your children — they truly are the best gift we could ever be given. Looks like you guys are doing an amazing job at raising them. Soak them in and enjoy! They grow up waaayyy to quickly!

  14. I started to cry while reading today. I have 2 boys 6 and 2 years old. I only hope that one day my kids will think of me as their hero. Give them kisses for me and let them know they are one of a kind. πŸ™‚

  15. These are the best gifts in life, greater than any gift money could buy. Wonderful! Welcome home. And you know what I mean by home πŸ˜‰

  16. kristenita says:

    I love this. How sweet.

    …and your bedroom is gorgeous.

  17. Tacey says:

MeRa, I could congratulate you till the cows came home on your brilliant business success…But, today, I salute you for being Pascaline’s HERO…Nothing will ever be more important than that…Consider yourself hugged. πŸ™‚

  18. Me Ra Koh says:

ooooh, you have all blessed me tonight! I LOVE reading your comments. Even if the comments is two words long, it’s so fun to hear from so many of you.

And Jeramy, I get the alarm clock side of the bed to head to the gym in the morning. It should be the other way around, but then I’d be a grump all day. So off the gym I must go. πŸ™‚

To all my lovely Minneapolis ladies, wait till you see the images tomorrow. You’ll get a kick out of them.

    Love you all! Sweet dreams!

  19. Me Ra Koh says:

And every time I ask the kids what “Red” means with the R in Father, they just start laughing. πŸ™‚

  20. That is beyond wonderful.

  21. Jo LeFlufy says:

Oh my! The “Arm & Hammer ODOR ALERT” cut out on Brian’s sign just about had me peeing my pants. Hilarious!!!
