Meet Painter Chris Shreve!

Me Ra Koh

But first meet his better half! ๐Ÿ™‚ One of my dearest and best friends from college, Shalom!

Shalom and I have been laughing and crying together since we first met in ’91. Now she’s married to an amazing man who is also an extremely talented painter, Chris Shreve. And, they just had their second baby, Scarlet Justice.

The summer is their high season too because they hit a bunch of art festivals around the country. Chris and Shalom set up their booth and have all his originals available as prints.

Just from the above photo, you can see how intense Chris’s work is. You can check out his site to see his stuff more up close and personal. It’s pretty amazing work. One of my favorites is the painting called, “the word was made flesh“.

This image below is his latest project.

By commission, he’s painting an original portrait of your child in a whimsical scene of your choice. “Imagine your child as a stork delivered baby, a frog kissing princess, a star dreaming astronaut a horse loving cowgirl, a ship sailing pirate.”

This is their little guy Enoch. I love how the top of his sword has a candle burning. If only you could see the original on this! It’s AMAZING! These commission portraits run around $6K.

We all love Chris! You have to know that he is very selective with his words. ๐Ÿ™‚

So when he pipes up at the dinner table, we ALL shut up because he may not say another word for the rest of the night. ๐Ÿ™‚ (just teasing you Chris) Where Shalom, Brian and I have the opposite problem of not letting each other finish our sentences.

The truth is we all want to be Chris. That tall, dark, mysterious, quiet painter guy that makes everyone wonder. In fact, when Chris ran to get a drink, Brian assumed the role of being Chris and looking “painter like”. Convincing huh! Doesn’t he look like a serious painter that is just to intimidating to even approach? It’s the whole chin action he’s got going. ๐Ÿ™‚

So here’s to the Shreve family and their first summer festival! And all the crazy, wonderful energy they invite!
