Yes, Brian and I finally entered the 21st century and got iPhones. As a photographer, I almost feel embarrassed on how long it has taken us to get one. I feel like I have to justify myself and tell all my photo friends that AT&T didn’t have coverage in our home so we had no choice but to wait for Verizon. But I don’t really have to share all that, right?! 🙂
But SERIOUSLY…I am going CRAZY over the photo apps. I mean CRAZY!!! I LOVE THEM!!
Blaze had his last baseball game last Saturday, and I was so giddy about taking photos with my iPhone that one of the moms asked if I had just bought it that morning. To funny! I won’t bombard you with ALL the photos I took, but here are my top three!

And my FAVORITE!
It’s kind of fun to not have to think about camera settings and just play with composition! I was thinking about the Third’s Principle a lot, and seeing how far I could push the envelope. It was also fun having the space of a square for composition. Just those two factors, the Third’s Principle and having a square image to work with, got my creative juices going. Sometimes it’s the simplest of things that recharges our creative energy. Not to mention all those filters!
On our drive home, I took this little gem! I love that the shutter dragged on this enough to blur the tree in the foreground.
And one little MISSY snuck in the car with mom’s iPhone and took this self portrait (so classic!).
Just Hilarious. She doesn’t know that I found this yet. 🙂

I had to wait for Verizon to get the iphone too for the same reason. Isn’t the iphone the best phone ever? I had no idea what I was missing! Love the last photo!

I’m 99% sure i’m going to get an iphone with Verizon in a few weeks (after the magic upgrade date;) and I honestly was wavering because of the cool 4G other smartphones (iphone is 3G) but WOW, hadn’t really been thinking photos with it that much! This could be the grain that puts the scale over for me to get the iphone!
which did you get? 32gb?? is that better for the photo apps? I want to know about the photo apps too!

hooray for getting an iPhone! I’m so addicted to mine. LOVE it! i wrote a post for a different blogger about my fav apps a while back: http://www.fuoriborgo.com/fuoriborgo/2011/02/iphoneography-with-emily-mccann.html
since then i’ve also discovered Diptic, PhotoForge2, Dynamic Light, and RetroCamera. I think perhaps that RetroCamera might have been pulled from the app store because of some copyright issues regarding their film names. But maybe it’s back by now. Hope so, because it’s awesome!

I love instagram (of course!), and Photobooth is another favorite!
Yesterday I entertained my 2-year-old by passing off the iphone and telling her to do a “photo shoot” with her toys. 200+ images later I have quite a collection of images

Oh I love the 3rd baseball one!! Too cute! We actually just started getting AT&T in our region (only had Verizon & Alltel until a month or two ago), so I understand your justification. I can’t wait until I get to upgrade my phone now! My mother-in-law lives out of town and loves getting pictures of our little guy. I think an iPhone would be PERFECT!! Have fun with your new phone 🙂

I love Instagram, makes it so easy to do so much with your photo. I also like Histogram and tiny planet. I love my iPhone so much!

loving hearing about these apps! being a practical girl (sometimes) i’m having fun with jawbone thoughts- audio texts and emails! i know, outside of the photo world, but you need some of those too. you’ll hear my voice soon, veddy, veddy soooooon-n-n-n-n….

I love my iPhone! Most often I use Hipstamatic w/ Instagram. I also like Camera+. I also recently discovered Photoverse for (photography news, product reviews, tips) when Bambi Cantrell tweeted about it. It’s a great resource!

My favorite iPhone apps: instagram, hipstamatic, camera bag, pano, best camera, 100Cameras, tiny planets, and 8mm (video that replicates an 8mm camera – so fun!). So when will we see a Me Ra Koh iPhone app in the app store? :). Hope you and Brian have a great time with your new phones!

I have more camera apps than anything! One of my favorites is the Pano app. You can stitch photos together. Two days ago I took a sweet shot of at Arches Nat. Park! Love!

LOL! MeRa! You crack me up! I was laughing hysterically when I ready the topic. I too made the jump back in May when my renewal was up. OMGoodness! I LOVE my iPhone. I have two apps I use (both free versions) Picture Magic and Be Funky. Have fun playin with your iPhone….lol…still laughing. :0)
