When Abby was two years old, her dad showed her how to make dinosaurs with her hands. Little did he know, a couple years later they’d be doing a family portrait of little dinosaurs. This is what I LOVE about capturing families. Every family has their own story; their own unique way they connect.
This is one of the families that won one of our Luxury Gift Certificates celebrating the launch of our new website and Frisco Portrait Studio! You are going to love their story. Scroll down to see a bts video of their family portrait of little dinosaurs.
Meet Rosie and Crack
Abby’s mom told me that she named her left handed dinosaur Rosie and her right handed dinosaur Crack. Mom has no idea where she came up with those names, but Abby brings Rosie and Crack wherever she goes. And it all started with dad making dinosaurs with his hands.
What Mom Loves Most
During our phone call about little Jack, mom told me how he loves to rub noses. It’s such a little detail that a mama’s heart never wants to forget. Eskimo kisses are definitely essential for a family portrait of little dinosaurs.
I LOVE how he is smiling in this one! Pure joy is radiating from that little smile. Makes mama’s heart melt!
She also shared how Abby has always played with hair since she was a baby. I wrote this detail down to watch for during the photo shoot. My heart melted when Abby did it. She was deep in thought and loving on her mama. Brian also caught it on video, you have to see it! And look at her sweet face in this portrait. Those eyes!
Flying with Dad
But isn’t it funny how the energy between a mom and her little boy are always so different than dad’s energy. When dad comes in the room, we go flying! As we should!
It’s been Ten Years…
They got married ten years ago. And it’s been ten years (aka their wedding) since they’ve had a portrait of just them. They’ve grown so much over the last decade. Their relationship has evolved, but some things never change.
Things that Never Change
Brian and I love talking with the husband and wife about their relationship. What was that moment he knew she was the one for him? What did she love about him when they were dating that she loves even more now?
They both talked about one of their first dates. The first time they held hands, they both felt electricity. She loves how he smiles with his eyes. He loves making her laugh. These are just a few of the stories that inspired their portraits as a couple. I can’t wait for their kids to see these on their walls. When kids see their parents deep love for each other displayed in the home, they feel more anchored. Just ask our teenagers.
Thank You Jenny and Robert
Brian and I can’t thank you enough for the complete honor of hearing your stories, capturing what means most, and creating beautiful fine art pieces that will sing your story throughout your home for years to come. And to add to all that we got to have dinner with you two! Look out guys, you’re stuck with us as friends! LOL!
