Unbridled Joy – Dallas Frisco Family Photographer – Me Ra Koh
Imagine darling portraits of a little girl’s unbridled joy.
This last year, I taught a master photography class for Sony and Precision Camera in Austin, TX. Due to the pandemic, the class was online. I wasn’t sure if my heart and passion for what I do would translate because unlike a live event, I couldn’t see anyone’s face but my own. So I said a prayer and taught my heart out.
A Grandpa Leaned In
Unbeknownst to me, one of the students was a grandpa and hobbyist photographer. He enjoyed my class so much that he entered his son’s family into a drawing I offered to my students. His son won! And that is how I got the chance to capture all dimples and wonder!
They Drove Up from Austin
Their sweet family drove up from Austin to our Frisco studio so we could capture what means most in this season of life. We LOVED learning about their family before the photo shoot through our signature Discovery Calls. Everything we learned in those calls inspired the portraits. Let me show you some sweet examples of what I mean.
The Words Mom Used
Meet Annabelle! She is a pure delight! Her energy and imagination have no ends. Her dimples and sense of wonder are to die for! We didn’t do a photo shoot in the way you might imagine. We PLAYED and created magical worlds, horses to ride, unicorns and magic! It was the BEST!
When I did a call with her mom, she described Annabelle as unbridled joy. That unbridled joy is what means most to mom. “I hope she always keeps her joy and confidence with her.” That’s what we set to capture.
Dad Loves His Annabelle
My call with dad was so authentic because it was in the middle of him role playing an imaginative world with Annabelle. He loves her many faces, and the sense of wonder and surprise that lights up her face. And he loves how Annabelle makes herself laugh all the time. (One of the best traits we can ever have!)
This was the sweetest shoot.
Can’t you just feel the unbridled joy and endless giggles coming out of Annabelle? She is so darling!
Time in the Garden
While mom and dad had fun creating different wall art layouts with Brian, I got to give Annabelle a tour of my garden. I have secret pockets of magic in the garden, and she was able to find them all. Then we had tea while we talked with the kitty. I could have spent another couple hours with her! (Brian and Maggie, you’ve got babysitters in Frisco anytime!)
Their Wonderful Wall Art
Dad said they’ve had this big wall in their family room. There’s a cut out to the kitchen. And they’ve always struggled with what to put there. Brian helped them transform the feeling of that whole room!
They love it! Grandpa loves it! Now when Annabelle is playing in the family room with her parents or by herself, she can look up and see how much her parents’ love and celebrate her unbridled joy!
