Family Photography: 14 Ways to Capture Dad’s Story

When We Fall, Dad is There

How many times have the kids fallen down at the park, and dad was there to sweep them up?  How many accidents happened at home, and before the children’s cries could reach their height, dad already had them in his arms?  Moms are amazing comforters.  But dads are too.  Their strong arms hold not only our bodies but our fears. No matter how hard we cry, they aren’t worried.  They know we are going to be okay.

I loved this moment between a dad and his daughter during our photo shoot.  She had fallen down and felt like the world came tumbling down with her.  Dad swept her up and just smiled as she cried her heart out.  He knew she’d be okay.  This confidence is one of dad’s most powerful gifts to give.  To be able to say “Everything is going to be okay.”  And deep down, your heart knows it’s true.
