How Dad Holds Baby

While your baby is still 0-3 months old, you’ll love taking this portrait of dad.  It’s a wonderful family photography story that shows scale.  You see dad’s big, strong hands as they gently cup baby’s head.  Position dad and baby just like you did for the Nose to Nose photo recipe.  After you get that shot, move to the front of dad’s hands and shoot straight on.

Here’s the secret to this portrait.  I have dad wear a black or dark colored t-shirt to help the baby’s forehead, even tip of baby’s nose, pop with more definition.  If dad was wearing a white t-shirt, the baby’s forehead may have blended to much with dad’s white t-shirt.  I also edited this image to be black and white to draw our attention that much more to dad’s hands holding baby’s head.
