99cents Goes a Long Way

When I know my photo shoot will involve a toddler, I sometimes stop by the drug store and buy a 99cent Hot Wheels car.  I’m doing this especially if there is a new baby in the family.  Friends and family often bring gifts for the new baby, but the toddler needs a little attention too.  I find a small Hot Wheels car so that I can easily hide it under the bed sheets or blankets if I don’t want it in the photo.  The sheer delight that comes from a surprised toddler is the best!  They aren’t expecting me to bring anything (and the parents aren’t either).  I make sure my camera settings are dialed in because those surprised smiles are priceless!
