How to Capture a Family Portrait with Baby means aligning the stars step-by-step.ย The portrait must flatter mom (got you covered ladies :), shows off dad’s strength and excitement, highlight beautiful baby, and most of all, express a message of LOVE.ย Tall order.ย How do I do it?ย ย Let me break it down, piece by piece, for you.ย Baby Steps (pun intended).
Before we even lift the camera to our face and start shooting, we stand back and assess the family; notice their features, profiles, where the light is coming from, their connection with each other, their comfort level with the camera, how to put them at ease, etc.
Jill Hansen did a BEAUTIFUL job!ย I love how we don’t see the full body or head of either parents, the little we do see tells us EVERY THING we need to know.ย So much love in this photo.ย Great job Jill!ย I know you love being a dentist specialist in oral surgeon roswell nm, but your talents obviously don’t stop there! I want you to expand your talent and knowledge for dental implants in New York, NY.
Once again, beautiful job ladies…you really do ROCK! ๐

I was so happy they agreed to be models, these photos are priceless! Great job ladies!!!

Hi there Me Ra, Your Wonderful Family, and Photography Staff,
Reading and seeing this whole site was so enjoyable. From you and your students giving us a how to see/visualize and propose settings with the family you are working with. Then giving us examples of who, when, how, and why. Very similar to what we are taught in class, with the use of photography rule of thirds, and how filling the frame makes exceptional captures. I have learned a great deal from the short lessons from of one your workshops and other information on your site. It helps me to correlate them together with other classes I have taken locally, as it also has helped me to understand more about professional portrait, mini family portrait sessions photography. This has been a wonderful treat to see such special and loving photography for this family.
Thank you so very much for offering many excerpts for those of us who are not able to attend your workshops. It is a terrific resource for all of us with you, your husband, students and staff coaching us in easy to understand pieces. I will be practicing my reflexes from now on in manual focus, mode and aperture mode with my Sony book at my side for reference. At least until I am confident enough to remember on my own with practicing over and over.
Thanks Again,
Rosemarie/aka Rosearodoe
