I’m probably the last one in the industry to post our WPPI 2008 photos, but I figure later is better than never. 🙂
We did a lot of talks on the trade show floor, and I totally spaced having someone take photos of all that. But we did grab around 17 🙂 from the Ladies Panel and Platform sessions. Want to see!?
This shot is from Pictage’s Headliner Event the Sunday before WPPI kicked into full gear. I heard there were 500 attendees, and I was completely thrilled to be on the Ladies Panel with two other beautiful women, Pepper Nix and Jules Bianchi.
The next morning was our Platform session. Platforms are a crazy thing b/c hundreds of people come to hear you,
you have to submit your topic outline for review 11 months out, and then you spend a year trying to figure out how to maximize this amazing opportunity. There is no way Brian and I could have pulled off such a successful session without our community.
Roxanne, who does our amazing canvas prints (and got the canvas on Oprah!), made these incredible 6 ft. banners for the stage. She did this all last minute for me, and I can’t thank her enough! They were just an awesome backdrop to being on a black stage.
So I’m just going to run through a bunch of fun photos that Gerald Pope captured for us (thank you Gerald!!!).
I talk with my hands way more than I realize!
Here’s Brian cracking us all up, especially me!
And Brian giving out our AWESOME door prizes that we love bringing to speaking engagements and workshops! The Sony cameras were a huge hit!
We want to give a BIG shout out to our friends for helping us run the back table of products. All five of the 101 Kits sold like crazy, people were turning in their order forms left and right,
we even sold out of the DVD series! This never would have happened without the Shoot Dot Edit guys
and the beautiful Katie Van Burien working away to fulfill orders.
I had been told that if your speaking don’t plan on getting to the back of the room to help sell your products b/c so many people have questions for you afterward. The advise was to find friends who could help you out big time. Jared, Bronson, Garrett, Jason, Katie, Roxie, Carey and anyone else I may be leaving out by accident…THANKS for being such great friends!
Were you at our Platform Session: Associate Your Way to the Top?
If you were, I’ve got two things to update you on.
1. If you took advantage of the bundle deal that Shoot Dot Edit was offering, they are now able to fulfill those promos for you. If you contacted them earlier this week, their hands were tied b/c Brian and I ended up taking home all the order forms, thus your emails. I’m blaming it on the confusing environment of Vegas. 🙂
2. Rangefinder will be sending out a survey to all who attended WPPI. We are keeping our fingers crossed at possibly getting to do another platform next year, and your feedback to them will make a huge difference. When you get the email survey, would you mind letting them know what you thought of our session? Thanks so much! If you don’t get the survey, and you want to let them know your thoughts (i.e. help us get another platform session :)), you can send an email to Shauna, sharris@rfpublishing.com.
(Me and Carey right before we headed home!)
You guys looked so cute up there together – and the backround banners DID look great!
Hey it’s CAREY!!!
I missed a good time, didn’t I? I’m glad Gerald showed up instead of me–I’m sure his photos are way better! 😉 He said you did a great job!
[…] While we were at WPPI this last March, Shoot Dot Edit asked a few of us to do an interview for them. It was one of my funniest memories from WPPI. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants on several accounts. I so hope that when the final cut is finished they do some kind of blooper role because there were some FUNNY moments. And Marc the other day was kind enough to send some shots from the interview. […]
