One of the craziest things our family saw in Southeast Asia was the whole Fish Massage for your feet in Cambodia!Β
Imagine a big tank of water sitting in the middle of the street. Sometimes it’s not even a tank but the inflatable pool your kids had in the backyard last summer. Then hundreds of fish swimming around waiting for someone to stick their hands or feet in.Β
Fish Massage for Your Feet Now Big in NYC
A friend said fish massages for your feet are now big in NY with the upscale spa centers costing hundreds of dollars per hour.Β Well friends, in the overwhelming heat of Cambodiaβs night scene, you can not only find a way to cool off your feet but have your skin cleaned up too for $3.
20 Minutes for $3
The fish will nibble away at all your dead skin cells at $3 for 20 minutes. And when all the dead skin cells are gone, they swim away. π
I have to admit, Fish Massage isnβt my thing. It doesnβt sound appealing to me. But Pascaline went crazy over it! If it was up to her, she would have put her whole body in! She said the feeling of all those wiggly, tiny mouths sucking on her fingers was the BEST feeling in the world.
What do you think?Β Does a fish massage for your feet sound appealing?Β Can you imagine the summer festivals having big tanks of cleaner fish this year, selling Fish Massages?
The locals love fish massage for your feet. They’d get in line and just dangle their feet over the edge of the tank…completely relaxed as gobs of fish nibbled on their toes.
I LOVE Thai Massage, but when it comes to a fish massage for your feet…I think I’ll stick with Swedish Massage.

uh…..no thank you. π
Ditto what Jeramy said. I don’t even like to swim in the lake because of the fish.
Oooo. I always thought it looked neat. We saw this on one of the travel shows at some point. Glad Pascaline enjoyed it.
I LOVE the goofy stuff! Will pass on the fish massage though π
Um. Well. That’s just gross. But in a good way. π
No thank you! I can’t even touch my own feet because I am SOOO ticklish!
I have totally read about this and thought it was so cool. It is really BIG on the east coast and cannot wait for it to happen out on the west coast so I can just try it once.
okay, I’m pretty adventurous but this is kind of an ewwwww. and i’m getting facial on thursday. now I’m worried….
Okay, that’s a little different and I bet it really tickles. And yes! The goofy stuff is cool too. Made me smile and I am grateful for that today.
I can’t say I’d call it appealing, but I’ve always wanted to try it anyway lol
It makes me squirm just thinking about how tickelish that would be. Not sure I could handle that!;)
Sounds a bit creepy. I saw it on t.v. last year. they said they weren’t sure they could use them in salons, because it would be hard to sanitize the pools after each person. But whatever floats your boat, I guess. =)
There are some of those fish at one of the aquarium museums here in St. Louis. It was the weirdest feeling to have them nibble at your skin. I had to force myself to keep my finger in the water and not think about piranhas! π I wrote about it on my blog here: http://sixgoldencoins.blogspot.com/2008/10/fun-with-kids.html
That is Crazy, yes I think it could be my thing. It sounds soo fun, Pascaline is brave ! π
