Meet Michele Anderson of Pinkle Toes Photography…An Incredible Photographer and an Amazing Mom!

We are so fortunate to have Michele of Pinkle Toes Photography with us this week, here on the blog and during the Ask and Learn session tomorrow evening in the forum.   Michele owns a thriving photography business in Austin, Texas, as well as PT4P (Pinkle Toes 4 Photographers), which is a business that specializes in Resources for Photographers.  This is where I first “met” Michele.  Her PT4P Resources were a major force in getting the business side of my photography business aligned when I first started.  It was also then that I fell in love with her images, her brand and her shooting style.  She shoots Maternity, Birth, Newborn, Baby, Children, Couples and Seniors.  Her work is stellar and she can’t wait to be with us.   For those of you who are homeschoolers…I believe she is homeschooling also and will be able to talk with us about managing your time.  Geesh, I wonder if she sleeps? 🙂

Q:  When did you start your business and what was the turning point of taking it from a hobby to a business of charging people?
I literally just dove in head-first with my business about 5 years ago. I had no idea what I was doing, but I had a dream and I was determined to make it happen. I started charging right away (glad for that), but I sure wish I knew more about pricing before I did so. You have to be really careful about digging yourself into a hole once you realize just how much time and effort does (should) go into a photo session. Hindsight…

Q:  What inspires your photography?
Light and emotion. I literally see those two things everywhere (probably not a good idea for me to be behind the wheel) and when I see them together…I’m giddy.

Q:  How do you balance your time between running a successful photography business and motherhood?
This is a great question…I promise to talk about this in the Ask and Learn:)

Q:  What is one of the best things you have done for the success of your business?

Q:  Can you tell us a fun back story behind this GREAT photo!
I would love to talk more about birth photography, so if any of you are interested in this area, tomorrow night is your time to ask questions!  Don’t be shy.

Q:  What type of camera equipment did you have when you first started shooting portraits? And what have you added to your camera bag since then?
I’ve recently switched to a Nikon D700 with these lenses:  50mm 1.4, 14-24mm 2.8, 24-70mm 2.8, 60mm 2.8micro, 70-200mm 2.8.

Q:  How do you know about Me Ra and the SOAR! community?
I just recently learned about Me Ra when I was part of the Shoot Q Thirst Relief Auction.  I am so excited to share with the SOAR! Community.
