Finding Wholeness in Infertility- Dallas Frisco Photographer – Me Ra Koh Photography

Think of the one thing you long for and can’t seem to get. No matter how hard you try, how much you invest, it is always out of reach. Other people get it and make it look easy. But for you, it never works. For some this may be finances, meeting their mate, health, the list is endless and intertwined with real pain.

For Stephanie and her husband it was infertility.

They struggled through the pain of infertility for 10 years. Nothing worked, not even adoption. Her journey to finding wholeness in infertility will inspire you beyond words.

Coming to the End of Herself

During my call with Stephanie, she shared something that was so profound and powerful. A few years ago, she came to a place of complete despair. She told God “You gave me this desire to have a baby, to be a mom, but if I never hold my child in my arms, I trust that You alone can make me whole.”

Those words still bring me to tears as I type them.

A couple years later, they found out they were pregnant with twins. A boy and a girl! A double blessing! You can hear the joy and laughter bubbling out of her.

This was the First Portrait She Saw

This was the first portrait Stephanie saw during the Reveal session. She burst into tears. Her husband, Brian and I all sat with her, holding that sacred space. She had completely let go of ever seeing herself in a portrait like this. Other women had pregnancy photos, but she let go of it for her. Seeing this portrait made it real? Her intention to finding wholeness in infertility had almost made her forget that she could have her pregnancy portrait too!

She Called it “Gift”

When I asked Stephanie what she’d like to title this portrait, she called it “Gift. Children are a gift from God…and He has made a way.”

Combining the Old with the New

She also brought her Indian wedding saree to combine the old with the new.

She is stunning. Her faith and trust in God leave me speechless. The heavens opened up to her. Before she was pregnant, she was finding wholeness in infertility. Stephanie, I want you to know that words can never fully express how much your story has impacted my heart and life. Thank you for sharing your pain and hope with all of us.

And as of a few days ago, she is now holding her twins!
