Take a second to think about how this moment would change if both the mom and baby were fully lit by the window light.  See how the shadows on mom draw us in even more?  This portrait seemed perfect to make black-and-white.  Any time I’m wanting to accentuate emotion, I consider making the image black-and-white.  Just a little rule of thumb when trying to decide.
