I LOVE this family!!! They are full of talent and attitude. The oldest boy was standing with his hand on his neck, and I said “I LOVE THAT!!! Keep that stance for me!” LOL! His stance exudes attitude and confidence. If you’re going to do a family portrait, you often want to close all the gaps between bodies. UNLESS, you make sure the gaps are clear and meant to be. This way everyone gets to express who they are. Notice how their backs are to the sun. This is the key way to deal with bright sun. Meter on their faces and shoot into the sun! It gives you dramatic results!
I also take full advantage of the “Sunny Weather” option in my Sony a7rii. You go to your menu, click on Monitor Brightness, and then double click for “Sunny Weather”. This setting makes your screen darker so you can actually see it in the bright sun. THE BEST!
