Frisco Arts Grant, NEW FIORIA Magazine– Dallas Frisco Family Photographer – Me Ra Koh

Have you ever moved somewhere new and started all over?

If you have, you know how overwhelming it is to plant new roots and navigate a whole new community. Three years ago, FIORIA’s Hair & Makeup Stylist Ginger Bay Makeup invited me to Frisco Arts Ladies Who Launch. I knew two women and felt so overwhelmed. But I LOVED the heart of that event. I think Becka Brady was the invited guest speaker, publisher of Frisco Life magazine. She shared her story in such a transparent way, and the host Tammy Suh Meinershagen did a wonderful job asking heartfelt questions.

I knew this was a community of women I wanted to know better. Then COVID hit.

Fast forward to last night…

I’ve been working on a special project for the last five months, a NEW FIORIA magazine celebrating the resilience of our Rising Phoenix women and families. I applied for the Ladies Who Launch, Frisco Arts Grant to help fund the project, and we WON! The magazine arrived just in time for us to share it with everyone!

That’s it, right there!!!

They gave the most wonderful evening to celebrate FIORIA and the resilience we photograph in others! It was at the beautiful Davio’s restaurant! I got to share parts of my story. We laughed, cried and laughed even more!

Fifty women came to celebrate FIORIA receiving the Frisco Arts Grant! It was so special to have some of my photography on display!

So many amazing women in this community making such a beautiful difference. It is a gift to be a part of this community!

Thank You to the Frisco Arts Grant Board

Thank you so much to the board and committee! I heard it was a unanimous decision to give the Frisco Arts Grant to FIORIA! What an incredible gift!

I’m so excited for all the new friendships!

“You get a car! And you get a car!”

We had an Oprah style moment, where we surprised everyone!!! We did a FIORIA Luxury Gift Certificate giveaway. But we didn’t tell them until the end of the night that we also taped a winner underneath a chair at every table! When the women realized it, the energy in the room was ELECTRIC! They jumped up and said “I’m a WINNER! I WON!” It was the BEST!

This was so special! This beautiful lady has been following our work and my TV shows for almost fifteen years! I felt like I was having a reunion with an old friend! What a special gift to meet her in person last night!

The beautiful, talented Vanessa Corral has also been following us for years. It was such a honor to have her capture the whole night! We have her to thank for all these wonderful Frisco Art Grant photos! Thank you so much Vanessa!

Feeling at Home, Surrounded and Thankful

I can’t imagine a BIGGER HUG from my local community than the one those women gave me last night to celebrate the Frisco Arts Grant. What a journey it’s been since we moved to TX.

Last month, we celebrated getting the cover of Frisco Life magazine and the wonderful article on how FIORIA celebrates the resilience in you and your family! This month it was the Frisco Arts Grant!

My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude for our local community! What a gift!

We are all Rising Phoenixes together! And it is breathtaking!

The Phoenix Portrait Experience allowed her to celebrate not only the healing but also embrace this scar. Now every morning Kristina wakes up to see that brave, powerful woman on her bedroom wall. Nothing will ever stand in her way again.

Crystal drove to us from Las Vegas.

A single woman who has always been known for being responsible and quiet, yet there is another side of her that wants to come out. A side that is brave and takes risks—that believes she is worthy of doing something special not just for others but for herself too. Every time Crystal looks up from her computer in her home office, she wants to be reminded of that part of her who is beautiful and brave.

Both these women have something in common, they were ready to …
