Did You Vote? Upcoming Workshop(s) Announcement!!

Me Ra Koh

You have all been so helpful with doing our poll for the next workshop city! Seattle and Chicago have gone neck to neck the whole way. It’s kind of crazy and super fun!

Here’s what Brian and I are thinking…

First, we are TOTALLY coming to Chicago in November!!! (YEAH!!!!) We are working on the details now, but I’m looking at the first or second weekend of November 2008. In the next week or two, we’ll release an early bird special where you can save 20% if you sign up as an “early bird”! So stay tuned for that! We can’t wait to meet all you lovely Chicago women! (and eat Chicago pizza together!)

Next, our Seattle ladies! We are thinking we may be able to squeeze a second workshop in before the end of 2008 since it’s local. But our calendar is crazy, so we need your help. Below is a poll for those of you who voted for Seattle. Can you tell us which of the two dates you prefer the workshop to be? (and yep, we’ll release an Early Bird Special for you too!)

What dates for the Seattle Photography Workshop do you prefer?

We really want to come to Texas and Georgia! But I’m so unfamiliar with these two places and need your help! I figure we’re in good hands with southern hospitality! πŸ™‚ If we planned on coming in 2009, what are the best months to visit Texas and Georgia? I don’t handle dry, hot weather very well (remember, I’m from the Northwest where we break out our shorts and call it a “sunny day” if it’s 65 degrees). πŸ™‚

What would be the BEST month, weather wise, for a GEORGIA workshop? Below are possible months we may be able to make it work.

When is the BEST month in 2009 to do a GEORGIA photography workshop for women?

Here’s the same poll for all you beautiful Texas women! We are thinking Ft. Worth as our location, so tell us what the best month is to come.

When is the BEST month in 2009 to do a TEXAS photography workshop for women?

We are determined to make it out to Texas and Georgia! Your help help is greatly appreciated!

And fyi, we’ll be needing workshop hostesses for Chicago, Georgia and Texas! Email me if you’re interested (mera@fioria.us). Some of you have emailed already and I’ll try and narrow it down then give you a call for an informal interview (no stress :)). Our biggest desire is someone who is well connected with places to host the workshop, ideas for places to eat with a large group, places to do photo shoots, families they can invite to be our models, creative ideas to market the workshop and get the word out locally, and the biggest thing–someone who LOVES answering emails for attendees who will have questions. What else comes with the Workshop Diva Hostess role? Start by reading here!

Any chance of an advanced workshop in Chicago? Not that I’m an expert by any means, but after attending the first workshop, I vowed to take the advanced. I need all the help I can get with lighting. πŸ™‚

  2. maya says:

For GA in 2009? I wouldn’t come in January. November might also be iffy – could be perfect, but it’s way too soon to tell.

But April or May in Atlanta? Can’t beat it.

Plus it gives me a whole year to save!

  3. Lauren says:

Yay Chicago! I’m cashing in my “birthday-anniversary-Christmas” wishlist to my hubby the instant the workshop is posted on the refuse to say cheese storefront. πŸ™‚

I know that sometimes you can reserve spaces in museums/aquariums for meals/meetings. How neat would it be to have one of the meals at Shedd Aquarium or something?

I’m off to look up all the great things to do in Chicago! Oprah is filmed in Chicago, you should start up your “Me Ra On Oprah” campaign again.

    I’m so excited! YAY!!

  4. RobynV says:

YAY Chicago!! Can’t wait! I’m in the burbs, but once you start planning, I’ll be happy to help with any logistics if you need it.

I won your DVDs from Posh and LOVE them! I know I said thanks when I won them, but now I that I’ve seen them, just wanted to say how much I love them. πŸ™‚

  5. Sherry Mescher says:

Can’t wait for you to post the Chicago workshop. I’m in Ohio and can’t wait to meet you & Brian, hope the workshop doesn’t sell out before I register…

  6. KimC says:

Texas would be wonderful, but I have to mention that winter in San Antonio is lovely. Average temperatures hover in the 60’s and rain is rare.
Just thought you’d like to know…

  7. Wendy says:

Ah, the Midwest! You all sign up now, it will change your lives in many ways. I think Me Ra is still planning to do a final recap on here from the Sonoma Workshop so you can see how incredible the experience will be. Get your calendars ready!

….Helping to keep the flame of passion and perseverance alive!!!

  8. Kristin says:

I can not get any more excited that you are coming to Chicago!!! Count me in!

  9. Amanda Mays says:

oooh add on day in Seattle! Can I come? πŸ˜‰

  10. Me Ra says:

Wendy, you are so great! Yes, the recap of Sonoma is still in the works. But never fear, it’s coming!

Can’t wait to meet so many of you in Chicago!! You should see the location we’re looking into!! It’s BEAUTIFUL!!!

  11. Lauren says:

Does it have to be November? I want to go this weekend. πŸ™‚

  12. Kelli says:

    I totally agree!

  13. Laura says:

April is the best time of the year to visit the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Can’t wait for you to get here!!! πŸ™‚

  14. Chris Young says:

Yay!!! Glad to hear that you are still interested in soaking up Southern Hospitality in Georgia! Macon is smack dab in the middle of the entire state and my old hometown (I live in the Mountains now) but if it’s good enough for Oprah’s Favorite Things this past year, then a Me Ra Koh Workshop can only top it!

  15. ZestyJenny says:

    Yay for Seattle!

I seem to always just miss signing up for your local workshops and then being so mad!

I’ll come no matter when you do it. πŸ™‚

  16. Me Ra – sooooo excited about Chicago! I will be there with bells on (ring-a-ling-a-ling!!!). Any news on the definite date yet? Trying to plan a mission trip to South Africa for November 13-22nd, and hoping the workshop isn’t during the same time. Hoping, hoping, hoping…. πŸ™‚

  17. […] we still wanting one? Check this previous post out. It looks like 29 of you voted for August and 35 of you voted for December. We may be able to […]

  18. Kate says:

I’d love to try to make the December one. Your workshop has been highly recommended and heaven knows I could use some help!
