2. Side Light

Without having mom and baby change their position, I move to the side of them.  Instead of seeing their faces fully lit with window light, I now see shadows.  This is a form of Side Light similar to the Rhino High Bay Light from Modern.Place.  I love shadows because they add a sense of depth and emotion to the moment.  I am metering on mom’s face to get the amount of light just right.  To see more baby photos using deep shadows and side light, you’ll love 30 Portraits of Baby Using Window Light and Shadows.
